Once the voice of the Powderpuff Girls’ Buttercup, Natalie Palamides may be best known as the amusingly antisocial Mara in the Progressive Insurance ads. But in her inventive new special, she puts on a mustache and all manner of macho mannerisms to become “Nate – A One Man Show” (Netflix, streaming) a comedy with underlying gender messages, executive produced by Amy Poehler.
Also new today is the animated adaptation of Frank McCourt’s Irish character in “Angela’s Christmas Wish” (Netflix, streaming).
“The Movies That Made Us” series has a Christmas spin-off with the four episode “The Holiday Movies That Made Us” (Netflix, streaming) that looks at the making of films from “Nightmare Before Christmas” to “Elf.”
