Another show has a special episode because of a guest availability: “Desus & Mero: The Obama Interview” (Showtime, 11:05 p.m.). 

A second season starts for the stylish series about Bruce Wayne’s butler, “Pennyworth” (Epix, 9 p.m.), with new additions to the cast that include James Purefoy, Edward Hogg and Jessica de Gouw.

The 29th Annual Trumpet Awards (Bounce TV, 8 p.m.) is not for horn players, but for African American achievers that include Naomi Campbell, Yara Shahidi and Tommie Smith. Presenters include Mariah Carey, Lee Daniels and Angela Davis; performers include Busta Rhymes and Anthony Hamilton.
