The 1998 murder of Bishop Juan Gerardi, a Guatemalan human rights activist, is the subject of the documentary “The Art of Political Murder” (HBO, 9 p.m.). 

The series “Break It All: The History of Rock in Latin America” (Netflix, streaming) tells the stories of the biggest stars of Latin America in the last 50 years, including Soda Stereo, Café Tacvba and Aterciopelados. The series takes its title from the terrific single by the band known as the Uruguayan Beatles, Los Shakers.   

Here’s a holiday rom com from South Africa.  The three-episode series “How to Ruin Christmas: The Wedding” (Netflix, streaming) stars Busi Lurayi as a woman who by returning home ruins her sister’s fancy wedding.  

The documentary series “Anitta: Made in Honório” (Netflix, streaming) follows the Brazilian pop star as she prepares for her tour. 

A true crime documentary series “The Ripper” (Netflix, streaming) looks into the case of the Yorkshire Ripper who operated from 1975 and 1980, leaving 13 women dead. 

The Indian comic presents his latest special “Vir Das: Outside In — The Lockdown Special” (Netflix, streaming) from his home in Mumbai. 

“Full Frontal with Samantha Bee” (TBS, 10:30 p.m.) devises a new episode. 

“A ‘Saturday Night Live’ Christmas Special” (NBC, 9 p.m.) collects some of the many holiday sketches over 46 seasons. It’s preceded by some kicking in this year’s only scheduled performance of the “Radio City Christmas Spectacular Special” (NBC, 8 p.m.) 

A shady evangelistic church is investigated on “S.W.A.T.” (CBS, 10 p.m.). 

“Trafficked with Mariana Van Zeller” (National Geographic, 9 p.m.) looks into the world of illegal steroids. 

Aaron and Roswell find evidence of police corruption on “For Life” (ABC, 10 p.m.).

“The Real Housewives of alt Lake City” (Bravo, 10 p.m.) enjoy the festivities surrounding the Sundance Film Festival (which, sadly, won’t be held in person next month). 

The “Josh Gates Tonight” (Discovery, 8 p.m.) talk show welcomes Judy Greer, Peter Billingsley and Reginald Vel Johnson. 

They’ve been celebrating Bernard Herrmann soundtracks on Wednesdays all month on Turner Classic Movies, but some of his most indelible work was with Alfred Hitchcock. Their collaborations are featured tonight, with “Vertigo” (8 p.m.), “Marnie” (10:15 p.m.), “The Trouble with Henry” (12:45 a.m.), “The Man Who Knew Too Much” (2:30 a.m.), “The Wrong Man” (4:45 a.m.) and “North by Northwest” (6:45 a.m.).
