Another great Friday film premiere comes with an adaptation of August Wilson’s “Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom” (Netflix, streaming) that is not only a star turn for Viola Davis as the blueswoman title character, but Chadwick Boseman in his final role as the trumpeter who awaits her. The big thing on that service, though, is the second season finale of “The Mandolorian” (Disney+, streaming), which may involve Baby Yoda entering preschool.
The new documentary series “On Pointe” (Disney+, streaming) follows a season at New York’s School of American Ballet, produced in part by Ron Howard.
