The superstar country couple who managed a distanced concert in the spring, return for some Christmas cheer in the new special “Garth & Trisha Live! A Holiday Concert Event” (CBS, 8 p.m.), a live event, in which Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood will take requests.
It’s followed by more music — the 22nd annual “A Home for the Holidays” (CBS, 9:30 p.m.) in which stories of adoption come between performances by Josh Groban, Meghan Trainor, Leslie Odom Jr., Miranda Lambert and Andrea Bocelli. Gayle King hosts.
Also, “Whitney Houston: Story of Her Songs” (Reelz, 9 p.m.) will be followed by “Diana Ross: Story of Her Songs” (Reelz, 10 p.m.).
Something of an annual tradition, and not an unwelcome one is the replay of “The Sound of Music” (ABC, 7 p.m.).
Gina strikes a deal for Carlo on “Your Honor” (Showtime, 10 p.m.).
Of course the last Sunday before Christmas is going to be filled with Christmas movies. The new romances tonight have Rachael Leigh Cook and Greyson Colt fighting storms to get back for the holiday on “Cross Country Christmas” (Hallmark, 8 p.m.).
Cindy Sampson plays a school teacher who gets an actor (Steve Byers) to help her keep the school open in “A Christmas Break” (Lifetime, 8 p.m.).
