Alice Gu’s “The Donut King” tells the rise and fall of Ted Ngoy, a Cambodian immigrant who built a chain of California donut shops, only to gamble it away. But there’s even more to the story than that, told tonight on “Independent Lens” (PBS, 10 p.m., check local listings).

A couple of series have their final episodes tonight. The superhero “Black Lightning” (CW, 9 p.m.) flies off after four seasons.

The cancellation of “All Rise” (CBS, 9 p.m.) was more of a surprise. The second season finale tonight will be its last ever. 

“The Voice” (NBC, 8 p.m.) begins the first half of its live finale.

A sniper is loose on the fourth season finale of “9-1-1” (Fox, 8 p.m.). A dust storm ends the second season of the accompanying “9-1-1: Lone Star” (Fox, 9 p.m.). Both will be back next season.

High school girls are mentored by female Hollywood executives in the special “Lifetime & The Hollywood Reporter Present: Women in Entertainment: The Next Generation” (Lifetime, 8 p.m.). 

Two neighbors who also share a psychiatrist is the premise for the new comedy “Mad for Each Other” (Netflix, streaming).

A new mystery import begins, based on the book, “Whistable Pearl” (Acorn TV, streaming).

The Australian import “The Secrets She Keeps” (AMC, 11 p.m.) wraps up its season.
