Emeril Legasse joins the team on the season 11 premiere of “MasterChef” (Fox, 8 p.m.).

Canadian sitcom “Kim’s Convenience” (Netflix, streaming) presents its fifth and final season. 

The new girl-bonding comedy “Carnaval” (Netflix, streaming) has a group of four friends going to Salvador during Brazil’s big annual celebration.

Another trip to South America doesn’t go so well on the new documentary series “Curse of Akakor” (Discovery, 10 p.m.), which tells the story of three explorers looking for the rumored cities of Akakor in the 1980s, but began disappearing, one by one. 

“Human: The World Within” (PBS, 10 p.m., check local listings) ends its run with an examination of the brain and the nervous system. 

“Family Karma” (Bravo, 9 p.m.) returns for a new season.
