The Ohio State Reformatory, site of “The Shawshank Redemption,” is visited on “Destination Fear” (Travel, 9 p.m.). 

“Moana” (Freeform, 6:15 p.m., “Sing” (Freeform, 8:45 p.m.) and “Ferdinand” (FXM, 6:40 and 8:50 p.m.) are among the animated features tonight.

A hippo gives birth on “The Zoo: San Diego” (Animal Planet, 8 p.m.). 

“Smothered” (TLC, 9 p.m.) continues its reunion episodes reviewing the season. 

You know it’s the dog days when the Saturday night featured movie is “Jurassic Park” (HBO, 8 p.m.), which is followed by “The Lost World: Jurassic Park” (10:10 p.m.).    

On “Tyler Perry’s Young Dylan” (Nikelodeon, 8 p.m.), a valuable collectible snuck into school is confiscated by the principal. 

Co-parenting Monster is an issue on “Love & Marriage: Huntsville” (OWN, 8 p.m.). 

“Family or Fiance” (OWN, 10 p.m.) stumbles on an age difference.

Baseball includes Cincinnati at Philadelphia (Fox Sports 1, 4 p.m.) and Dodgers at Mets (MLB, 7 p.m.). 

Preseason football has Miami at Chicago (NFL, 1 p.m.), Denver at Minnesota (NFL, 4 p.m.), New Orleans at Baltimore (NBC, 7 p.m.), Cleveland at Jacksonville (NFL, 7 p.m.) and Chargers at Rams (NFL, 10 p.m.). 

The NBA summer league has Denver vs. Dallas (NBA, 3 p.m.), Atlanta vs. Miami (ESPN2, 4 p.m.), Philadelphia vs. Boston (NBA, 5 p.m.), Indiana vs. Oklahoma City (ESPN2, 6 p.m.), Charlotte vs. Toronto (NBA, 7 p.m.), Cleveland vs. New York (ESPN2, 8 p.m.), Portland vs. Phoenix (NBA, 9 p.m.) and Detroit vs. Lakers (ESPN2, 10 p.m.).

“Saturday Night Live” ((NBC, 11:30 p.m.) returns with reruns after a few weeks off for the Olympics. Tonight is a 2020 episode with Adele and H.E.R.
