For the first time since February 2017, I was back playing music on the radio this afternoon, for the soft opening of a new show on internet radio.
Capital Radio is on the New Haven-based CygnusRadio.com, which is available free online worldwide. It will be on live Mondays from 1 to 4 or so p.m.; with past shows to be available archived on the site.
The Cygnus radio app is available on iTunes or Google, allowing you to hear it on your phone, or send it to headphones or bluetooth speakers.
So I started with some tunes about D.C., moved to Magnetic Fields, who were in town lately, and riffed on songs with the soft theme, ending with a couple of cuts from “The Soft Bulletin” by the Flaming Lips, who happen to be in town tomorrow. Some Rod Stewart and Bob Dylan were in there, along with representation from some more D.C. sons, from the Duke, to Bo Diddley to Marvin Gaye.
