The new animated film “Diary of a Wimpy Kid” (Disney+, streaming) is based on Jeff Kinney’s popular book.

“The Rescue” (Disney+, streaming), a new documentary from the makers of “Free Solo,” concerns the dramatic rescue of 12 soccer players and their coach from inside a flooded cave in Thailand. 

The new set of episodes from “Pen15” (Hulu, streaming) will also wind up the series from Anna Konkle and Maya Erskine who play 13-year-olds trying to adjust. First up, a bat mitzvah. 

A second season comes for “Alex Rider” (IMDb TV, streaming).

Ready for more baking with Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith? Here’s season four of “The Great British Baking Show: Holidays” (Netflix, streaming). Not to be outdone, there is a Christmas episode of “Disney’s Magic Bake-Off” (Disney, 9:40 p.m.). 

Julie Bowen plays a grandmother (!) raising a teen that finds a cassette tape her parents made and wants to learn more in the new film “Mixtape” (Netflix, streaming). 

The final five episodes come for “Money Heist” (Netflix, streaming).

From the makers of Wallace and Gromit comes “Shaun the Sheep: The Flight Before Christmas” (Netflix, streaming), a half hour holiday special.

Not a Christmas movie: A teen joins a game that requires her to be hidden in the forest for 72 hours in the thriller “Missing and Alone” (Lifetime Movie Network, 8 p.m.).

Big time Christmas corporate synchronicity comes in “Disney’s Holiday Magic Quest” (Disney, 7 p.m.) with various characters cavorting through Walt Disney World. Yvette Nicole Brown hosts. 

Wine appreciation is the subject on “How to With John Wilson” (HBO, 10 p.m.).

“The New York Times Presents” (FX, 10 p.m.) has a feature length documentary on an Alabama man sentenced to death in a police shooting who was never accused of touching the murder weapon. 

Tommy throws a curveball on “Ready to Love” (OWN, 8 p.m.).

“Nancy Drew” (CW, 9 p.m.) tries to trap a killer but ends up unleashing a supernatural spirit that feeds on people’s sorrows/ 

The murder in the house of Gucci is explored on “Dateline” (NBC, 9 p.m.). 

“Magnum P.I.” (CBS, 9 p.m.) starts tailing Higgins, who has been infiltrating a group that wants to take down MI6.

The competition with Maya Rudolph and Andy Samberg that debuted online Thursday is available now on broadcast TV, “Baking It” (NBC, 8 p.m.), produced by Amy Poehler. 

Danny partners with Anthony to solve a double homicide on “Blue Bloods” (CBS, 10 p.m.). 

“S.W.A.T.” (CBS, 8 p.m.) is pulled into a dangerous case involving the Russian mob. 

The search is on for the right horse on “The Last Cowboy” (CMT, 8 p.m.).
