The Barefoot Contessa herself is star of the new series “Be My Guest with Ina Garten” (Food, noon), in which the chef, cookbook author and TV host welcomes guests into her home. Her first guest is the actress Julianna Marguilies.
Mostly it’s about basketball today. With the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament reaching its regal finals with the Elite Eight, with Houston vs. Villanova (TBS, 6 p.m.) and Duke vs. Arkansas (TBS, 8:30 p.m.). Not sure why these would be on cable when CBS is otherwise a pile of reruns of “FBI” (CBS, 8 p.m.) and “48 Hours” (CBS, 9 and 10 p.m.).
One sport that is on network broadcast TV tonight are the World Figure Skating Championships (NBC, 8 p.m.) from France.
Speaking of reruns, the Oscar-related special “Step Into… The Movies with Derek and Julianne Hough” (ABC, 8 p.m.) and this week’s “American Idol” (ABC, 9 p.m.) get second viewings.
“Critter Fixers: Country Vets” (Nat Geo Wild, 9 p.m.) begins a third season premiere, working on a pregnant goat, wobbly kittens and a gecko with an eye problem.
Denis Villeneuve’s “Dune” (HBO, 8 p.m.) with Timothee Chalet and Oscar Isaac, makes its premium cable debut.
Pugs, bears, hounds and a horse are among the “World’s Funniest Animals” (CW, 9 p.m.).
