Hugh Laurie wrote, directed and produced a new mystery series based on a 1934 Agatha Christie work, “Why Didn’t They Ask Evans?” (BritBox, streaming) stars Will Poulter and Lucy Boynton as a couple of upper clusters who try to figure out a murder. Laurie pops up in a smaller role as a sanatorium director.
“The Thing About Pam” (NBC, 10 p.m.), with Renee Zellweer, concludes the wry limited series about a Midwestern murder.
Catherine Tate stars in several roles in a new six-episode series set in a women’s prison, “Hard Cell” (Netflix, streaming).
