A new series taking a look behind the scenes at NASCAR, its drivers and teams begins, titled “Race for the Championship” (USA, 10 p.m.), coinciding with the NASCAR cup series playoffs that begin this weekend. The premiere also runs on Bravo tonight.

“Mountain Men” (History, 8 p.m.) begins its 11th season preparing for another winter in remote Montana.

A second season starts for the Australian thriller “The Secrets She Keeps” (Sundance Now, streaming), about a woman who kidnapped a baby two years earlier. 

The comedy series “Rap Shit” (HBO Max, streaming) has its first season finale.

Also ending their seasons tonight are “No Demo Reno” (HGTV, 9 p.m.), “Good Trouble” (Freeform, 10 p.m.) and “Fright Club” (Travel, 10 p.m.). 

Race rears its head on “Big Brother” (CBS, 9 p.m.) where there’s a lot to cover tonight – a big house meeting, the veto meeting, the live eviction and the head of household competition. 

Another bad hiring choice is the basis of a made-for-TV thriller “Swim Instructor Nightmare” (Lifetime, 8 p.m.) with Sydney Hamm and CJ Hammond. 

“True Crime Story” (Sundance, 10 p.m.) returns with the first of new episodes, starting with a death in Dallas, Ga. Hilarie Burton Morgan hosts.

The Badlands of South Dakota is the latest destination on “America’s National Parks” (National Geographic, 9 p.m.).

“Press Your Luck” (ABC, 8 p.m.) and “Generation Gap” (ABC, 9 p.m.) have new episodes tonight. 

The Jim and Tammy Faye Bakker story is retold on “The Con” (ABC, 10 p.m.).

On “Bump” (CW, 8 p.m.), Rosa and Angel invite Only on a girls’ night out.

Seven remaining bakers make chocolate pasta on the “Great Chocolate Showdown” (CW, 9 p.m.).

“60 Days In” (A&E, 8 p.m.) has a quarantine chaos.

It’s Friendsgiving time on “Southern Charm” (Bravo, 9 p.m.). 

On “Little Demon” (FXX, 10 p.m.), Satan and Chrissy go to a game show. 

Lola the Bunny returns for Easter Sunday on “Jersey Shore: Family Vacation” (MTV, 8 p.m.). 

“Buckhead Shore” (MTV, 9 p.m.) continues its reunion. 

Co-parenting ain’t easy for “Wake & Tammy” (WEtv, 9 p.m.).

After a month were 31 actors were stars for a day, September on Turner Classic Movies begins with someone who will be a star all month — Humphrey Bogart. A Thursday night survey of his films begins tonight with “The African Queen” (8 p.m.), “The Maltese Falcon” (10 p.m.), “Across the Pacific” (midnight), “The Treasure of the Sierra Madre” (1:145 a.m.), “Key Largo” (4 a.m.) and “To Have and Have Not” (6 a.m.). 

During the day TCM has films that feature Marjorie Main, with “Susan and God” (6 a.m.), “The Women” (8 a.m.), “Heaven Can Wait” (10:30 a.m.), “The Harvey Girls” (2:30 p.m.), “Rationing” (4:15 p.m.), and “Gentle Annie” (6 p.m.). 

Baseball includes Seattle at Detroit (MLB, 1 p.m.), Dodgers at Mets (MLB, 4 p.m.), Texas at Boston (MLB, 7 p.m.) and Milwaukee at Arizona (MLB, 10 p.m.).

Venus and Serena Williams play doubles perhaps for the last time at The U.S. Open (ESPN2, 7 p.m.). Other second round action is at noon on ESPN. 

The women’s world hockey championship has U.S. vs. Hungary (NHL 10 a.m.) and Canada vs. Sweden (NHL, 2 p.m.) in the quarterfinals.
