Sylvester Stallone steps to television in the new series “Tulsa King” (Paramount+, streaming), playing an ex-New York Mafia don just released from prison and exiled to Oklahoma, where he’s a tough guy fish out of water trying to start its own action. Stallone seems to be having some fun in the role, and the cast includes Martin Starr, Andrea Savage and Dana Delany. Best of all it’s created by Taylor Sheridan, whose hit series “Yellowstone” (Paramount, 8 p.m.) also returns for its fifth season tonight with Kevin Costner about to take office of Montana governor in a premiere that’s longer than most movies (nearly 2 1/2 hours long!). It’s also simulcast on sister stations MTV, VH1, Pop and TVLand.
“Rogue Heroes” (Epix, 9 p.m.), a new series about the UK’s Special Air Service parachuting behind enemy lines in Libya in 1941 stars Steven Knight of “Peaky Blinders.” Jack O’Connell, Connor Swindells, Alfie Allen and Dominic West also star.
Canines compete in the new series “The Dog Games: World Pup 2022” (Discovery+, streaming).
The first season of “Anne Rice’s Interview With the Vampire” (AMC, 10:05 p.m.) has a finale. A second season has been ordered.
“Real Life Nightmare” (HLN, 9 p.m.) returns for a fourth season with a two-hour profile of the National Forest serial killer. Paul Holes is the new host.
The former first lady’s new book tour begins with “Michelle Obama: The Light We Carry – A Conversation with Robin Roberts” (ABC, 10 p.m.).
