Started with some Monday morning post-Yule analysis, but the day after Christmas is also known as both Boxing Day and St. Stephen’s Day. Each odd designation was saluted in song (and the ever-prolific Elvis Costello had a tune for each).

Mostly, though this weekend’s impending New Year’s Eve brought nearly three dozen songs about the celebration at midnight, hopes for the impending calendar turn and assessments of the year gone by. All this without a single “Auld Lang Syne” and only one “What Are You Doing New Year’s Eve?”

That meant the show went into overtime in order to mark the passing in recent weeks of both Terry Hall of The Specials and Fun Boy Three fame, and Philly songwriting and producing whiz Them Bell.

Here’s the link to the my last radio show of the year; the playlist follows.
