The 50th anniversary of rap is highlighted on the BET Awards 2023 (BET, 8 p.m.), with performances from Big Daddy Kane, Fat Joe, Ja Rule, Kid N’ Play, Master P, Soulja Boy, The Sugarhill Gang, Trina, Tyra, Uncle Luke and Yo-Yo, among others.

Drake leads nominees this year with seven; GloRilla has six; 21 Savage and Lizzo have five each. Busta Rhymes, pictured above at the Grammys earlier this year, will get a lifetime achievement award and Patti LaBelle will pay tribute to Tina Turner. Other performances are expected from Chi Leray, Coco Jones, GloRilla, Ice Spice and more. A red carpet preshow begins at 6. The main event will be simulcast on sister stations Comedy Central, MTV, Nickelodeon, Pop, TV Land and VH1. 

“Pride Across America” (Hulu, 11 a.m.) covers a number of Pride parades across the country, including New York, San Francisco and Chicago. Not connected, a replay of the 1940 “Pride and Prejudice” (TCM, 2:15 p.m.). 

“Ridley” (PBS, 8 p.m., check local listings) continues his investigation into a 12-year-old missing persons case.

A series of deaths is connected with a TV crime series on “Endeavour” (PBS, 9 p.m., check local listings). 

“Wicked Tuna” (National Geographic, 9 p.m.) ends its 12th season with a pair of episode.
