Seems like this year should be the year for shows on Orcas, but here’s SharkFest 2023, starting with “Bull Shark Bandits” (National Geographic, 8 p.m.), “Shark Eat Shark” (National Geographic, 9 p.m.) and “Saved from a Shark” (National Geographic 10 p.m.). 

Speaking of peril in the deep, “The Whole Story with Anderson Cooper” (CNN, 8 p.m.) recounts last month’s  deadly attempt to peer at the Titanic. 

The stink will soon clear: “The Idol” (HBO, 9 p.m.) ends its odious run after just five ugly episodes. 

“Endeavour” (PBS, 9 p.m., check local listings), the long-running prequel series to “Inspector Morse,” comes to an end with a final two hour episode. 

The workingman’s competition “Tough as Nails” (CBS, 8 p.m.) returns for a fifth season with a couple of episodes. This season is set  in Hamilton, Ontario. Phil Keoghan hosts. 

On “The Righteous Gemstones” (HBO, 10:)6 p.m.), Jesse prepares for induction into a prominent hidden society. 

Ginny begins a dangerous adventure on “The Walking Dead: Dead City” (AMC, 9 p.m.).

“Ridley” (PBS, 8 p.m., check local listings) investigates the case of a woman found dead on a bleak moor. 

George tries to cover his tracks on “The Lazarus Project” (TNT, 9 p.m.).
