A terrific cast has been assembled for Stephen Soderbergh’s new crime thriller “Full Circle” (Max, streaming), with Timothy Olyphant, Claire Danes, Zazie Beetz, CCH Pounder and Dennis Quaid. The twisty contemporary tale that deals with the kidnapping of a well-connected young man is from Ed Solomon, who with Soderbergh created the choose-your-own-path murder mystery “Mosaic” for HBO in 2017 (which I enjoyed). This drama was originally going to play with different points of view as well but was ultimately boiled down to six episodes, the first two of which are available today.
The James Spader spy drama “The Blacklist” (NBC, 8 p.m.) ends its run after 10 seasons with a two hour finale.
The fifth season start of the peerless vampire comedy “What We Do In the Shadows” (FX, 10 p.m.) is a reason to celebrate. They all go to the mall in the first of two new episodes tonight.
“Gray Matter” (Max, streaming) stars Jessica Frances Dukes as a mother who tries to share her superhuman skills with her daughter (Mia Isaac). It’s a first film from a “Project Greenlight” contestant Meko Winbush.
Michele Buteau stars as a struggling stylist in the new series “Survival of the Thickest” (Netflix) that she wrote based on her own book. It’s not great.
“Burn the House Down” (Netflix, streaming), based on a Japanese manga series, concerns a woman who tries to prove her mother did not burn their house as suspected. Mei Nagano stars.
A second season begins for the animated Sonic the Hedgehog series “Sonic Prime” (Netflix, streaming).
