Jesse L. Martin of “Law & Order” fame returns with what looks like the only new scripted show of the fall season, “The Irrational” (NBC, 10 p.m.) about a behavioral science professor who advises law enforcement on crime solving. Based on Dan Ariely’s nonfiction book “Predictably irrational,” it also stars Mara Hill, pictured with Martin above, as well as Travis Springer and Molly Kunz.
After four seasons and rather shocking growth of their kids “Breeders” (FX, 10 p.m.) with Martin Freeman and Daisy Haggard comes to an end with its series finale.
Rene McEntire is fitted for a spinning chair as she joins the 23rd season of “The Voice” (NBC, 8 p.m.), alongside John Legend, Gwen Stefani and Niall Horan. Ostensibly, she replaces the long running Blake Shelton, and she ought to have some sharp things to say to the first round of try-outs.
It seems like restaurants have been all fixed since gordon Ramsay had been doing any emergency fixes on U.S. TV for almost 10 years. But now “Kitchen Nightmares” (Fox, 8 p.m.) is back, so quality must have been sliding lately (or was it Covid?).
Also back is the bootcamp training for B-list stars, “Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test” (Fox, 9 p.m.). Those enlisted for the second season include Jack Osbourne, Tara Reid, Bode Miller, Black Chyna, Brian Austin Green, Jodi Siwa and Nick Viall.

Astrid decides to go to drink night on “Children Ruin Everything” (CW, 8:30 p.m.).
“Run the Burbs” (CW, 8:30 p.m.) celebrates the Vietnamese Lunar Year.
Sofia fights for her mother’s attention on “Son of a Critch” (CW, 8 p.m.).
“Below Deck Mediterranean” (Bravo, 9 p.m.) stretches out with an episode clocking in at one hour, 45 minutes.
“Ancient Aliens: Declassified” (History, 8 p.m.) does them better, stretching until after midnight.
The former White House spokeswoman premieres her prime time show, “Inside with Jen Psaki” (MSNBC, 8 p.m.), right before the weekly installment of “The Rachel Maddow Show” (MSNBC, 9 p.m.).
It’s all about escaping from Nazis on Turner Classic Movies tonight with “Von Ryan’s Express” (8 p.m.), “The Great Escape” (10:15 p.m.), “Man Hunt” (1:15 a.m.), “The Password of Courage” (3:15 a.m.) and “The Cross of Lorraine” (5:15 a.m.).
