Recent world events may make “All the Light We Cannot See” (Netflix, streaming) more compelling than it might have otherwise been. The series adaptation of Anthony Doerr’s Pulitzer Prize-winning novel, about a blind French girl and her father fleeing Nazi-occupied Paris while protecting a valuable diamond. It’s carefully done and lavishly staged with some fine acting from Aria Mia Loberti and Mark Ruffalo as daughter and father. But it is quite slow moving, at least at first.
From Indonesia, comes the new series “Cigarette Girl” (Netflix, streaming) about a woman concocting a new formula for clove cigarettes.
