The 97th Annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade  (NBC, 8:30 a.m.) seems to be starting a little earlier than usual, but it’s repeated in full at 2 p.m. New balloons this year include Beagle Scout Snoopy, the Pillsbury Doughboy, Po from “Kung Fu Panda,” and Blue Cat and Chugs, pictured above, are the first characters to come from the world of NFTs to be in the parade. 

Jon Batiste and Cher are among the performers at the event. Also: Bell Biv Defoe, Brandy, Chicago, En Vogue, Pentatonix, and David Foster with Katharine McPhee. Eventually, there’ll be Santa. 

Then comes “The National Dog Show” (NBC, noon) from Philadelphia, hosted by John O’Hurley and David Frei, with Mary Carillo. 

Further canines can be found in the American Humane’s Hero Dog Awards 2023 (FYI, 8 p.m.). 

Today’s big football matchups have Green Bay at Detroit (Fox, 12:30 p.m.), Washington at Dallas (CBS, 4:30 p.m.) and San Francisco at Seattle (NBC, 8:20 p.m.). 

The new series “Lost Cities Revealed with Albert Lin” (National Geographic, 9 p.m.), looks for vanished cities, starting with one in the Sudanese desert. 

Astrid wants some time to herself on “Children Ruin Everything” (CW, 8:30 p.m.). 

There may not be a Thanksgiving rom-com on tonight, but here’s a Christmas one, “Catch Me If You Claus” (Hallmark, 8 p.m.) about a news anchor who meets St. Nick’s son. Italia Ricci and Luke Macfarlane star. 

Also tonight is “So Fly Christmas” (BET+, streaming), with Tichina Arnold playing a woman stood up at the altar on Christmas Eve.

“The Golden Bachelor” (ABC, 8 p.m.) has the night off, so they’re filling the night with the first three episodes. 

There’s a couple more reruns of the British “Ghosts” (CBS, 9 p.m.) after a replay of a U.S. one at 8:30.

“Son of a Critch” (CW, 8 p.m.) shakes the family tree. 

Pat tries to help Terry find his real father on “The Ms. Pat Show” (BET+, streaming). 

“Ambulance” (Starz, 9 p.m.), the 2022 heist movie with Jake Gyllenhaal and John Cena, makes its premium cable debut. 

There’s an “Elf”-inspired “Christmas Cookie Challenge” (Food, 9 p.m.). 

“NewsNation Special Report from the Files of George Knapp” (NewsNation, 9 p.m.) has the network going all-in on UFO coverage. 

Turner Classic Movies has a night of family favorites, with “Spencer’s Mountain” (8 p.m.), “Cheaper by the Dozen” (10:15 p.m.), “Ma and Pa Kettle Back on the Farm” (midnight), “The Courtship of Andy Hardy” (1:30 a.m.) and “Little Women” (3:15 a.m.). 

During the day they’re catering to kids, with “Jack and the Beanstalk” (6 a.m.), “Tom Thumb” (7:30 a.m.), “The Wonderful World of the Brothers Grimm” (9:15 a.m.), “The Phantom Tollbooth” (11:45 a.m.), “Challenge to Lassie” (1:30 p.m.), “National Velvet” (3 p.m.) and “Chitty Chatty Bang Bang” (5:15 p.m.).

College football has Ole Miss at Mississippi State (ESPN, 7:30 p.m.).
