A second season starts for the British police procedural “Vigil” (Peacock, streaming) with the team played by Suranne Jones of “Gentleman Jack” and Rose Leslie of “Game of Thrones” now investigating deaths at a different military facility — no longer in the sea but this time in the Air Force. Here’s a little story I wrote about it for TV Insider. 

From Japan comes the new action series “House of Ninjas” (Netflix, streaming) in which an ancient order is revived in modern times. 

The rapper turned sometime comedy star (briefly on “Abbott Elementary”) creates his own deadpan series based on an exaggerated view of his life in the new “The Vince Staples Show” (Netflix, streaming), conjuring up both “Atlanta” and “Curb Your Enthusiasm.” 

The seventh and final season of “Young Sheldon” (CBS, 8 p.m.) premieres, amid a tornado. Frankly, the tall, teenaged Iain Armitage is no longer quite that young. 

Starting its third season is the U.S. comedy “Ghosts” (CBS, 8:30 p.m.), presumably leaving the UK version that had been filling the space right in mid-season. 

The network’s other season premiere is the second season start for the legal series “So Help Me Todd” (CBS, 9 p.m.) starring Marcia Gay Harden and Skylar Astin. 

Starting its fourth season is “Swamp People: Serpent Invasion” (History, 9:30 p.m.) because those giant pythons just won’t stop. 

Once the 15 chefs are divided into three teams, they must prepare a smash burger on “Next Level Chef” (Fox, 8 p.m.). 

“The Doomsday Prophet: Truth and Lies” (ABC, 9 p.m.) is a two hour documentary lookinginto the brutal fundamentalist Latter-day Saints polygamists led by Warren Jeffs. 

Mark must defend his come book collection on “Son of a Critch” (CW, 9 p.m.).

“Farmer Takes a Wife” (Fox, 9 p.m.) brings the couples to a football tailgating mixer. 

Astrid and James book the babysitter of their dreams on “Children Ruin Everything” (CW, 9:30 p.m.). 

“The Tall Tales of Jim Bridger” (INSP, 8 p.m.) tells one about Bridger’s rescue of fur trappers after a raid. 

A woman continues to carry a torch for a high school crush, moving next door to his family 20 years later, in the made-for-TV thriller “She’s Obsessed with My Husband” (Lifetime Movie Network, 8 p.m.) with Alissa Filoramo and Matthew Pohlkamp. 

She knows your dead people but she doesn’t know what to pack for her first trip to the UK on “Theresa Caputo: Raising Spirits” (Lifetime, 9 p.m.). 

“Jersey Shore Family Vacation” (MTV, 8 p.m.) has a book release party. 

An intruder changes wedding plans on “I Wasn’t Expecting a Baby!” (Lifetime, 10 p.m.). 

On “The Family Stallone” (MTV, 9 p.m.), Sophia worries she can’t live up to her parents’ success. 

Pressures take a toll on the wives on “Genius: MLK/X” (National Geographic, 9 p.m.). 

“Bold & Bougie” (WEtv, 9 p.m.) has a pool party. 

Turner Classic Movies brings movies once sited for Best Story (a designation that was part of the ceremony until 1956) and Best Screenplay today with “The Public Enemy” (6 a.m.), “Bachelor Mother” (7:30 a.m.), “My Favorite Wife” (9 a.m.), “The Search” (10:30 a.m.), “The Strange Love of Martha Ivers” (12:30 p.m.), “The Narrow Margin” (2:30 p.m.), “A Guy Named Joe” (4 p.m.), “Here Comes Mr. Jordan” (6:15 p.m.), the 1937 “A Star is Born” (8 p.m.), “One Way Passage” (10 p.m.), “Love Me or Leave Me” (11:15 p.m.), “The Stratton Story” (1:30 a.m.), “49th Parallel” (3:30 a.m.) and “Test Pilot” (5:45 a.m.).
