Michael Chang, who became the youngest man in history to win a singles major in tennis, winning the 1989 French Open at 17, tells how he was shaped by his family’s immigration journey to America in a new film by Jay Kang, “American Son,” making its debut on “30 for 30” (ESPN, 8 p.m.).

The effects of climate change on Mumbai’s coli fishermen are shown in Sarvnik Kaur’s “Against the Tide” making its debut on “POV” (PBS, 10 p.m., check local listings). 

The revived “Futurama” (Hulu, streaming) returns for tis 12th season, and nobody looks like they’ve aged a bit. 

For those who don’t peek at the results when they happen earlier in the day, “Primetime in Paris: The Olympics” (NBC, 7 p.m.)  can be suspenseful. Tonight features medal events in swimming, men’s gymnastics, canoeing, archery, fencing, shooting, cycling and equestrian. 

The detective series “Signora Volpe” (BBC America, 10 p.m.) returns for a three-episode second season, with Emilia Fox playing a British spy starting a new life in the Italian countryside. 

The new series “Prison Chronicles” (History, 10 p.m.) takes a look at some of the most notorious prisons, starting with Alcatraz.

Logan goes searching for answers on “61st Street” (CW, 9 p.m.). 

“The Bachelorette” (ABC, 8 p.m.) seems to have to preside over a lot of petty fights among her suitors, 13 of whom are left. 

Simone celebrates her 21st birthday on “All American: Homecoming” (CW, 8 p.m.). 

“The Great American Recipe” (PBS, 9 p.m., check local listings) has chefs prepare a dish inspired by a friend. 

A two and a half hour episode of “Intervention” (A&E, 8 p.m.) may suggest a case that isn’t going smoothly. 

“Contraband: Seized at Sea” (Discovery, 9 p.m.) has so far not confiscated anything from “Below Deck Mediterranean” (Bravo, 9 p.m.). 

An unusual ingredient is introduced on “BBQ Brawl” (Food, 9 p.m.). 

“History’s Greatest Escapes with Morgan Freeman” (History, 9 p.m.) tells the story of a German who escaped a Laos prison during the Vietnam war. 

The North American Wife Carrying Championships are covered on “Outrageous Love with NeNe Leakes” (Lifetime, 9:30 p.m.). 

Teaching teens to drive results in “Parents Gone Wild” (Lifetime, 10 p.m.). 

“Mysteries of the Unknown” (Travel, 8 p.m.) include a pair of psychic sisters who say they can talk with the dead. 

Still swimming around: “Baby Sharks in the City” (Nat Geo Wild, 8 p.m.), followed by “When Sharks Attack …and Why” (Nat Geo Wild, 9 p.m.). 

Turner Classic Movies’  month-long Monday night series comparing pre-Hays Code movies with similar flicks that came after, concludes with “Night Nurse” (8 p.m.) paired with “The Lost Weekend” (9:30 p.m.); “Midnight Mary” (11:30 p.m.) followed by “Marked Woman” (1 a.m.); and “Tarzan and His Mate” (2:45 a.m.) with the later “Tarzan Escapes” (4:45 a.m.).
