Here’s a rom-com I can get behind: one with both romance and comedy — and a couple of proven personalities in the forefront, Kristen Bell (“Veronica Bell” and “The Good Place”) and Adam Brody (“The O.C.”), as a podcaster and a rabbi who meet cute and stay there. Pretty nice supporting cast too, with Justine Lupe (“Succession”) and Timothy Simons (“Veep”) as respective siblings. The irony about “Nobody Wants This” (Netflix, streaming) is that everybody will.
Speaking of returning TV stars, Joshua Jackson of “Dawson’s Creek” joins Don Johnson in a new medical procedural that takes place on a luxury cruise ship, “Doctor Odyssey” (ABC, 9 p.m.).
No medical drama has lasted as long as “Grey’s Anatomy” (ABC, 10 p.m.), which begins its 21st season tonight. There will apparently be plenty of new faces, but returning cast includes Chandra Wilson, James Pickens Jr., and — at least more than she was last season — Ellen Pompeo.
The second “People’s Choice Country Awards” (NBC, 8 p.m.) are held at the Grand Ole Opry, with special awards going to Miranda Lambert and Kane Brown, both of whom will also perform. Other performers include Keith Urban, Kelsea Ballerini, Lady A, Parker McCollum and the War and Treaty. Shania Twain hosts.
From Turkey comes the romantic drama “A True Gentleman” (Netflix, streaming) about a gigolo who falls in love.
“9-1-1” (ABC, 8 p.m.) returns for its eighth season; its second on this network.
It’s the third season premiere for “Crime Scene Kitchen” (Fox, 9 p.m.), hosted by Joel McHale. But it’s the 23rd season start for the accompanying “Hell’s Kitchen” (Fox, 8 p.m.) with Gordon Ramsay.
The old-timer of the night is probably “This Old House” (PBS, 8 p.m., check local listings) – back for its 46th (!) season, to work on a cottage in East Nashville.
The new series “Defending Europe” (National Geographic, 7 p.m.) covers the ways countries on that continent have been fighting for 2,000 years. It starts with Britain, followed by Poland at 8, Netherlands at 9 and France at 10.
“Big Brother” (CBS, 8 p.m.) has a fast-moving double eviction night.
Chase and Harper try to convince Morgan to help Emily on “The Old Man” (FX, 10 p.m.).
“The Real Housewives of Orange County” (Bravo, 9 p.m.) tries to find common ground among their men.
A pregnancy adds to deadline pressures on “Divided by Design” (HGTV, 9 p.m.).
“Jersey Shore Family Vacation” (MTV, 8 p.m.) goes to Vegas for the Super Bowl.
Police come knocking on on the penultimate episode of “The Tailor of Sin City” (Sundance, 10 p.m.).
Turner Classic Movies pays tribute to Donald Sutherland, who died in June at 88, with four of his films: “M*A*S*H” (8 p.m.), “Ordinary People” (10:15 p.m.), “Klute” (12:30 a.m.) and “Kelly’s Heroes” (2:30 a.m.).
During the day TCM has the Broadway musical adaptations “Easter Parade” (6:15 a.m.) “Broadway Melody of 1938” (8 p.m.), “The Band Wagon” (10 p.m.), “Kiss Me Kate” (noon), “Gold Diggers of 1935” (2 p.m.), “42nd Street” (3:45 p.m.) and “Gypsy” (5:15 p.m.).

College football has Army at Temple (ESPN, 7:30 p.m.).
