A Colombian adaptation of Gabriel Garcia Marquez’s masterpiece, “One Hundred Years of Solitude” (Netflix, streaming) carries a lot of the same magic. Turning it into a 16-episode series doesn’t seem to slow the action down as well, and the cinematography, with its long tracking shots, is mesmerizing. Marco Gonzalez and Susana Morales star as the cousins who marry and then lead their villagers to a new settlement deep in the jungle alongside a river. But there’s seven generations of the family to cover.

In a season where holiday rom-coms outnumber holiday variety shows, “A Motown Christmas” (NBC, 9 p.m) is especially welcome. Hosted by Smokey Robinson and Halle Bailey, the two hour show mixes Yuletide favorites with Motown classics as rendered by Gladys Knight, Martha Reeves and the Vandellas, BeBe Winans, Ashanti, Andra Day, Jamie Foxx, Jojo, Jordin Sparks, Machine Gun Kelly, Pentatonix, the current facsimile of The Temptations and the hosts.
“Sullivan’s Crossing” (CW, 8 p.m.) has its second season finale, with Cal working with Maggie as she fights to save the Crossing.
