“From Darkness Into Light” (TCM, 8 p.m.) is the new documentary by Michael Lurie and Eric Friedler, about Jerry Lewis’ never-released 1972 film “The Day the Clown Cried,” famously set in a Nazi concentration camp. In addition to interviews with Lewis before his death in 2017, and with those who have seen the film, including Harry Shearer, the documentary includes never-before-seen footage of the infamous lost film. 

It’s paired with other films set in the Holocaust era, “Life is Beautiful” (10 p.m.), “Jakob and Liar” (12:15 a.m.), “To Be or Not to Be” (2:30 a.m.) and “Au Renoir, Les Enfants” (4:15 a.m.). 

Tuesday is an odd day for a new episode of “The Simpsons” (Disney+, streaming). But it was 35 years ago today that the first episode of the long-running series, “Simpsons Roasting on an Open Fire” first aired. In the new “O C’mon All Ye Faithful,” Homer mistakenly believes he is Santa Claus.Patti LaBelle and Pentatonix make musical appearances. 

The latter group also pops up in the holiday music special “A Motown Christmas” (NBC, 9 p.m.), hosted by Smokey Robinson, which makes an encore showing. 

A pantomime troupe member is found dead in the Sister Boniface Mysteries Christmas Special 2024 (BritBox, streaming). 

Michael Maliakel and Lesley Nicol take part in “Joy: Christmas with the Tabernacle Choir” (PBS, 8 p.m., check local listings). 

From London’s Royal Albert Hall comes a reimagined version of the classic in “Too Hot to Handel — The Gospel Messiah” (PBS, 9:30 p.m., check local listings). 

The world of the NFL star is covered in the three-part documentary series “Aaron Rodgers: Enigma” (Netflix, streaming). 

The two-part “LEGO Masters: Celebrity Holiday Bricktacular” (Fox, 8 p.m.) concludes and names a winner. 

“FBI” (CBS, 8 p.m.) investigates the deaths of three customs officers in a cargo heist; “FBI: International” (CBS, 9 p.m.) responds to the death of a star witness in a Budapest prison; and “FBI: Most Wanted” (CBS, 10 p.m.) clashes with locals while pursuing a serial killer. 

There are Christmas-themed episodes of “St. Denis Medical” (NBC, 8 p.m.) and “Night Court” (NBC, 8:30 p.m.). 

Both “1,000-Lb. Sisters” (TLC, 9 p.m.) and “1,000-Lb. Best Friends” (TLC, 10 p.m.) have season finales (so they’re free to chow down at Christmas parties?).

“The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” (Bravo, 8 p.m.) return home from Oceanside. But “The Real Housewives of New York City” (Bravo, 9 p.m.) are still in Puerto Rico. 

There’s a sing-along version of the animated film “Encanto” (Disney, 8 p.m.).

“Moonshiners” (Discovery, 8 p.m.) try a hot pepper version. 

Turner Classic movies has various films pitting man against snow: “Eskimo” (9:30 a.m.), “The Trail of the ’98” (11:30 a.m.), “Men of the North” (1 p.m.), “The Wild North” (2:15 p.m.), “The White Tower” (4 p.m.) and “Man in the Wilderness” (6 p.m.). 

The championship of the Emirates NBA cup has Milwaukee vs. Oklahoma City (ABC, 8:30 p.m.) in Las Vegas. 

Hockey has Islanders at Carolina (Hulu, 7:30 p.m.). 

College football’s the Frisco Bowl with Memphis vs. West Virginia (ESPN, 9 p.m.) from Frisco, Texas.

Men’s college basketball has DePaul at St. John’s (Peacock, 6:30 p.m.), North Carolina at Florida (ESPN, 7 p.m.), Michigan State at Oakland (ESPN2, 7 p.m.), UNLV at Dayton (CBS Sports, 7 p.m.), Seton Hall at Villanova (Peacock, 7:30 p.m.) and Valparaiso at Ohio State (Peacock, 8 p.m.),
