Coming in right under the wire is the last Yuletide special this season: “Christmas with Andrea Bocelli and Friends: A Grammy Holiday Special” (CBS, 8 p.m.). Jennifer Hudson, Due Lipa, Josh Groban, Sofia Carson are featured. alongside the opera singer’s wife Veronica Bocelli and daughter Virginia Bocelli.
Xavier Babudar, a goofy Kansas City Chiefs superfan in a wolf mask, who promoted himself as ChiefsAholic, expanded his notoriety when he became accused of being a serial bank robber two years ago. A new documentary, “ChiefsAholic: A Wolf in Chiefs Clothing” (Prime Video, streaming), largely follows a bail bondsman who tries to track him down. It’s a little drawn out, and some of the re-enactments are cheesy, but at least it isn’t stretched further into a true crime documentary series.
A different kind of bank is part of the annual showing of the 1946 “It’s a Wonderful Life” (NBC, 8 p.m.). It’s that “broken down savings and loan” in Bedford Falls. But stretching Frank Capra’s two hour, nine minute movie over three full hours is a move right out of Henry F. Potter.
At least another primetime broadcast movie, “Home Alone” (ABC, 8 p.m.) is kept to two hours.
The Hawai’i Bowl has South Florida vs. San José State (ESPN, 8 p.m.). It’s about the only live sports on a pretty silent night.
The double-dog dare will occur 24 times over two different networks, and you’ll likely see Flick get his tongue stuck to the frozen flagpole on the dueling marathons of “A Christmas Story” (TBS, 8 p.m.; TNT, 9 p.m.). It repeats over 24 hours, restarting on the even hours on TBS, odd hours on TNT.
The Christmas Eve Mass (NBC, 11:30 p.m.), with Pope Francis at St. Peter’s Basilica in Rome replaces Jimmy Fallon.
First responders, police and firefighters play “The Price is Right at Night” (VBS, 8 p.m.).
Turner Classic Movies’ Christmas marathon continues all day with “Three Godfathers” (6:45 a.m.), “Big Business” (8:15 a.m.), “Christmas Eve” (8:45 a.m.), “Bundle of Joy” (10:30 a.m.), “Meet Me in St. Louis” (12:15 p.m.), “It Happened on 5th Avenue” (2:15 p.m.), “Christmas in Connecticut” (4:15 p.m.), “The Shop Around the Corner” (6:15 p.m.), “The Bishop’s Wife” (8 p.m.), “Room for One More” (10 p.m.), “A Christmas Carol” (midnight), “Beyond Tomorrow” (1:30 a.m.), “Hell’s Heroes” (3 a.m.) and “Kind Lady” (4:30 a.m.).
