They talk about New Year’s Rockin’ Eve, but how about New Year’s Rockin’ Day?

The 2024 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony (ABC, 8 p.m.) that first ran live on Disney+ in October, gets its broadcast premiere, where Cher, pictured here, Foreigner, Peter Frampton, Ozzy Osbourne, A Tribe Called Quest, Mary J. Blige and the Dave Matthews Band are all inducted. 

Turner Classic Movies extends the rockin’ with a day of the best rock ’n’ roll movies, with “Monterey Pop” (6:15 a.m.), Bob Dylan in “Don’t Look Back” (7:45 a.m.), The Beatles in “A Hard Day’s Night” (9:30 a.m.), Led Zeppelin in “The Song Remains the Same” (11:30 a.m.), “Jimi Hendrix” (2 p.m.), The Who’s “Tommy” (3:45 p.m.) and The Rolling Stones concert movie “Shine a Light” (5:45 p.m.).

For another kind of music, marking the 200th anniversary of the birth of Johann Strauss, Hugh Bonneville hosts the annual new Year’s concert with the Vienna Philharmonic, conducted by Riccardo Muti on “Great Performances” (PBS, 8 p.m., check local listings). 

Today’s college football bowl games also serve as playoff quarterfinals: Texas vs. Arizona (ESPN, 1 p.m.) at the Peach Bowl in Atlanta, Ohio State vs. Oregon (ESPN, 5 p.m.) in the Rose Bowl from Pasadena, and Notre Dame vs. Georgia (ESPN, 8:45 p.m.) in the Sugar Bowl in New Orleans. Winners move to the semifinals Jan. 9 and 10.

But first, there’s The 136th Rose Parade (ABC, NBC, 11 a.m.) from Pasadena, with 39 rose-covered floats, 16 equestrian teams and 24 marching bands from around the world. Grand marshal is billie Jean King. 

The story and legacy of soul singer Luther Vandross is told in the documentary “Luther: Never Too Much” (CNN, 8 p.m.).

“Missing You” (Netflix, streaming) is a new series about a detective who suddenly finds a fiancé that had gone missing 11 years earlier, on a dating app. Rosalind Eleazar and Ashley Walters star in the adaptation of Harlan Coben’s novel. 

A fancy residence on a golf course in Bluffton, S.C. is the “HGTV Dream Home 2025” (HGTV, 8 p.m.). 

“Liberation: D-Day to Berlin” (Smithsonian, 8 p.m.) is a new series about the turning point of World War II. 

Amid the weight-loss resolutions of New Year’s Day, there’s a new season start for “My 600-Lb. Life” (TLC, 8 p.m.). 

The very sharp comedy “Diarra from Detroit” (BET, 10 p.m.) finally makes its cable debut after its run on BET+ last spring. 

Danni and Karen face potentially fatal consequences on “Tyler Perry’s Sistas” (BET, 9 p.m.). 

“Homicide Squad New Orleans” (A&E, 10 p.m.), a new documentary true crime series following law enforcement in Louisiana’s biggest city, is from the production company of Dick Wolf (“Law & Order”). 

It follows an episode of “The First 48” (A&E, 9 p.m.) set in Mobile. 

The entire three-episodes of “Girls Gone Wild: The Untold Story” (E!, 7 p.m.) gets a cable premiere, featuring an interview with its originator, in exile in Mexico. 

“The Incredibles” (Freeform, 5:45 p.m.) is matched with “Incredibles 2” (Freeform, 8:20 p.m.). 

There’s another look at the Shroud of Turin on “Expedition Unknown” (Discovery, 9 p.m.). 

“Mystery at Blind Frog Ranch” (Discovery, 10 pm.) nearly has a disaster when drilling down a smoke vent. 

There are more turns in the case of the little Ukrainian girl whose adoptive family in America abandoned her,  convinced she was really an adult. A new “Final Chapter,” in which she speaks her piece, is due Monday. Until then, there’s the place-setting “The Curious Case of Natalia Grace: The Road to Natalia Speaks” (Investigation Discovery, 9 p.m.). 

“American Pickers” (History, 9 p.m.) never even take a holiday off. 

The lineup tonight on Turner Classic Movies has “That’s Entertainment!” (8 p.m.), “That’s Entertainment! II” (10:30 p.m.) and “That’s Entertainment! III” (12:45 a.m.), followed by “Soundies: A Musical History” (3 a.m.) and “Divine Madness” (4:30 a.m.). 

Hockey has New Jersey at Los Angeles (NHL, 6 p.m.).

Men’s college basketball includes UNC Greensboro at Wofford (CBS Sports, noon), UConn at DePaul (CBS Sports, 2 p.m.) and Villanova at Butler (Fox Sports 1, 6:30 p.m.).

Women’s games include Seton Hall at Villanova (Fox Sports 1, 8:30 p.m.).
