Colin Firth stars in the five-episode limited series “Lockerbie: A Search for Truth” (Peacock, streaming) about the explosion of Pan Am Flight 103 over Scotland in 1988 that killed 270 people. The series does a good job showing how extensive and widespread the damage was and follow’s a father’s determined effort to seek justice in a story that takes some wild turns and has unexpected echoes of today’s world geopolitics.
The results of a deadly crime that may have been a terrorist attack in New Orleans on New Year’s Eve,has resulted in the Sugar Bowl, a college football playoff quarterfinal, to be rescheduled today, with Notre Dame vs. Georgia (ESPN, 4 p.m.). Also being played today is the Gator Bowl in Jacksonville, with Duke vs. Ole Miss (ESPN, 8 p.m.).
The latest comedy from Denis Leary, “Going Dutch” (Fox, 9:30 p.m.) he plays an Army corporal demoted to the least important base in Europe, in small town Netherlands. That its current commander is his daughter (Taylor Misiak) turns it into a family squabble as well. Danny Audi is on duty in the sitcom as well.

The new “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” (ABC, 8 p.m.) revives the old renovation series that first aired 20 years ago. Iitself a spinoff of an ill-advised plastic surgery series, it lasted 10 seasons. The new iteration stars Clea Shearer and Joanna Teplin and relies heavily on deserving families, honking buses and cheering neighbors.
Those who insist on watching it on broadcast TV rather than streaming, here’s the second season start for “Only Murders in the Building” (ABC, 9 p.m.) that first ran on Hulu in 2022. The first three episodes run tonight over two hours. Meanwhile, the fourth season of the comedy mystery with Steve Martin, Martin Short and Selena Gomez, ended in October on Hulu, with a fifth season due later this year.
“Southern Hospitality” (Bravo, 9 p.m.) starts its third season after a new episode of “Southern Charm” (Bravo, 8 p.m.).
Back for its 16th season with the start of a new gator season is a quite different group of Southerners, “Swamp People” (History, 8 p.m.). It’s accompanied by the fifth season start for its spinoff, “Swamp People: Serpent Invasion” (History, 9:35 p.m.).
Brenda Blethyn’s “Vera” (BritBox, streaming) returns for its 14th and final season of solving mysteries.

In the made-for-TV thriller “The Replacement Daughter” (Lifetime Movie Network, 8 p.m.) a young woman is taken in by a wealthy woman when her mother falls into a coma. Then the trouble really starts.
Amelia Earhart’s plane is believed to have been found in Papua, New Guinea on the special “Finding Amelia” (Travel, 9 p.m.).
“Bama Rush” (TLC, 8 p.m.), the streaming documentary on Max about women pledging a sorority at the University of Alabama, gets a replay on cable.
