It’s been more than two years since its first season, but the timing is right for Mohammed Amer and the second season of his heartfelt comedy “Mo” (Netflix, streaming). In it, he plays a Palestinian, who has been stuck in Mexico City, trying for U.S. citizenship back in Houston. The border crossing episode couldn’t be more pointed or timely.
Bringing a jokey “Suits” style to a spy saga, “The Recruit” (Netflix, streaming) is also back for a second season, largely set in South Korea. Noah Centineo plays a CIA lawyer who keeps getting involved in dangerous cases.
The new documentary series “Scamanda” (ABC, 9 p.m.), based on the podcast of the same name, tells the story of a California woman who faked her own cancer diagnosis.
It’s accompanied a replay of Hulu’s 2024 “Perfect Wife: The Mysterious Disappearance of Sherri Papini” (ABC, 10 p.m.), about a California woman who faked her kidnapping, making its broadcast TV premiere.
And on cable, there’s the truly wild 2023 documentary series “Love Has Won: The Cult of Mother God” (TLC, 8 p.m.) that first appeared on HBO.
