The highest profile journalist this week — for writing about being on an unsecured chat thread about a U.S. military attack — gets to tell his story once more in his usual role as moderator of “Washington Week with The Atlantic” (PBS, 8 p.m., check local listings). Jeffrey Goldberg will host a couple of other journalist unfairly dissed by the president this week, Peter Baker and Susan Glasser, as well as Laura barrón-López and Shane Harris. 

“Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Road Trip” (Disney+, streaming) is a sequel to the “…Very Bad Day” film made from the Judith Viorst children’s book, about a trip to Mexico City for spring break. Thom Nemer stars as Alexander; the film also stars Eva Longoria, Jesse Garcia, Paulina Chavez and Chech Martin. 

Sofia Carson stars in the film “The Life List” (Netflix, streaming), based on Lori Nelson Spielman’s book about a woman who sets out to complete a bucket list she wrote as a teen. Connie Britton also stars. 

The balance of the NCAA men’s basketball championship sweet 16 play today with Ole Miss vs. Michigan State (CBS, 7 p.m.), Kentucky vs. Tennessee (TBS, truTV, 7:30 p.m.), Michigan vs. Auburn (CBS, 9:30 p.m.) and Purdue vs. Houston (TBS, truTV, 10 p.m.). 

The NCAA women’s basketball Sweet 16 is just getting under way with North Carolina vs. Duke (ESPN, 2:30 p.m.), Maryland vs. South Carolina (ESPN, 5 p.m.), LSU vs. NC State (ESPN, 7:30 p.m.) and Ole Miss vs. UCLA (ESPN, 10 p.m.). 

The legacy of a cellist whose career was cut short by multiple sclerosis at 28 is told by Yo Yo Ma in the documentary “Jacqueline du Pré: Genius and Tragedy” (PBS, 9 p.m., check local listings). 

Not sure that everyone will agree that “Animals, They’re Just Like Us!” (Nat Geo Wild, 9 p.m.). 

“RuPaul’s Drag Race” (MTV, 8 p.m.) has queens make over their own parents. 

I suppose you learn everything you need to know about the made-for-TV thriller, “Buried Alive & Survived” (Lifetime Movie Network, 8 p.m.) from the title. 

“Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives” (Food, 8 p.m.) gets some snapper soup in Goshen, Ind. 

Fishermen hit rock on “Outback Opal Hunters” (Discovery, 10 p.m.).

“Gold Rush” (Discovery, 8 p.m.) tries a new site in Keno. 

Orbs glow in Mexico on “Ancient Aliens” (History, 9 p.m.).

“Mysteries from Above” (History, 10 p.m.) wonders about blue ponds in Utah. 

It’s all about Disney promotion all night on National Geographic, one of the networks it acquired, culminating with “Magic of the Disney Treasure” (National Geographic, 10 p.m.), about a new cruise ship.

Unique forms an unliely alliance on “Power Book III: Raising Kanan” (Starz, 8 p.m.). 

Turner Classic Movies’ Friday night series of movie mixups concludes with “The Gay Divorcee” (8 p.m.), “Tom Jones” (10 p.m.), “A Stolen Life” (12:30 a.m.), “The Importance of Being Earnest” (2:30 a.m.) and “Love Crazy” (4:15 a.m.). 

During the day is a tribute to the English actress Floria Robson, born this day in 1902, with “The Rise of Catherine the Great” (6 a.m.), “The Sea Hawk” (7:45 a.m.), “Saratoga Trunk” (10:15 a.m.), “Caesar and Cleopatra” (12:45 p.m.), “Great Day” (3 p.m.), “Black Narcissus” (4:30 p.m.) and “Murder at the Gallop” (6:30 p.m.).
