Amy Sherman-Palladino and Daniel Palladino of “Gilmore Girls” and “The marvelous Mrs. Maisel” fame, return to their love for ballet that fueled the one season “Bunheads.” In “Etoile” (Prime Video, streaming) involves the top ballet companies in New York and France having to swap stars in an effort to  excite audiences. 

The result is the most entertaining streaming comedy about the  fine art world since “Mozart in the Jungle” (also on Amazon Prime).  Luke Kirby , who played Lenny Bruce in “Maisel,” stars opposite Charlotte Gainsbourg (“Nymphomania”), above, as the negotiating heads of their big city companies. French actress Lou de Laâge is the tougher-than nails Parisian ballet star (the title is French for “star”0.

A French-American co-production, half of the familiar Sherman-Palladino patter is in another language (which means you have to read the subtitles fast). Somehow they got permission to shoot all over Lincoln Center, and there’s time for some beautifully shot dance routines. 

Elsewhere, Tom Hardy stars in Gareth Evans’ action thriller “Havoc” (Netflix, streaming), playing a disgraced detective who goes undercover. Jessie Mei Li, Timothy Olyphant and Forest Whitaker also star. 

The second and third rounds of the NFL Draft (ABC, ESPN, NFL, 7 p.m.) is deemed newsworthy enough to run another 4 1/2 hours of prime time. 

Up late? Coverate of The Funeral of Pope Francis (ABC, CNN, NBC, MSNBC, 3 a.m.) begins very late tonight; the ceremony is to be gin at 4. 

“NCIS: Sydney” (CBS, 8 p.m.) ends its second season with a hunt for a missing antiaircraft.

The ninth and final season of “Gold Rush: White Water” (Discovery Channel, 8 p.m.) begins in remote Alaska. 

“Fire Country” (CBS, 9 p.m.) ends its third season with a pair of episodes, fighting blazes at a gas station and a health care facility respectively. 

The man who flew by attaching helium balloons to his lawn chair is featured on “The UnBelievable with Dan Aykroyd” (History, 9 p.m.). 

On “Gross Point Garden Society” (NBC, 8 p.m.), Catherine has to help sell her childhood home. 

A relationship expert is summoned by one couple on “The Never Ever Mets” (OWN, 8 p.m.). 

“Dateline” (NBC, 9 p.m.) reports on the case of a West Virginia pharmacist whose husband dies suddenly. 

Rachmaninoff reinvents himself as an American artist on “Great Performances” (PBS, 9 p.m., check local listings). 

Jeremy Irons hosts “International Jazz Day from Morocco” (PBS, 10 p.m., check local listings), a music special featuring performances from Herbie Hancock, Shemekia Copeland, David Sunburn, Gregory Porter, Jose James, Hiromi, Marcus Miller and Ravi Coltrane, among others. 

Jeffrey Goldberg will likely talk about his visit with Trump this week on “Washington Week with the Atlantic” (PBS, 8 p.m., check local listings). 

“Held Hostage in My House” (Lifetime Movie Network, 8 p.m.) is a made for TV movie about a single mother who wakes up hogtied in her country vacation rental. 

A top secret weapons program is one of the “Secrets Declassified with David Duchovny” (History, 10 p.m.). 

“Outback Opal Hunters” (Discovery, 10 p.m.) go on the last dig of the season. 

Turner Classic Movies’ month-long Friday night series of pulp fiction concludes not with that film, but with sci fy and fantasy with “The thing from Another World” (8 p.m.), “The Land That Time Forgot” (9:45 p.m.), “Doc Savage: The man of Bronze” (11:30 p.m.), “Red Sonja” (1:30 a.m.), “She” (3:15 a.m.) and “Time After Time” (5:15 a.m.).
