Stanley Tucci continues to have one of the best Sunday night gigs in TV — traveling around Italy and tasting the cuisine. Except now he’s doing it for a different network. The new “Tucci in Italy” (National Geographic, 8 p.m.) has the actor starting in Tuscany and in a second hour, Lombardy.
Meanwhile, back on CNN, traveling continues with different celebrities. “Eva Longoria: Searching for Spain” (CNN, 9 p.m.) goes to the Basque Country; Billy Porter visits Mykonos on “My Happy Place” (CNN, 10 p.m.).
“American Idol” (CBS, 8 p.m.) ends its 23rd season by crowning a winner who is likely to be as widely known as the last dozen winners, whoever they were. The final three in the three hour finale are Breanna Nix, John Foster and Jamal Roberts; judges Carrie Underwood, Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan will team with season mentor Jelly Roll for a performance, and there will be songs from Jennifer Holliday, Josh Groban, Kirk Franklin, Patti LaBelle Salt-N-Pepa, Good Charlotte, Goo Goo Dolls and Myles Smith, among others.
A seventh season starts for the drama “The Chi” (Showtime, 9 p.m.).
“Miss Austen” (PBS, 9 p.m.) concludes its run with two episodes, following Jane’s sister Cassandra, played by Keeley Hawes.
Also gone for good after tonight is the spinoff “Suits LA” (NBC, 9 p.m.) a variation of “Suits” that hasn’t been picked up for a second season.
Pablo Pascal’s Joel makes a sudden return to “The Last of Us” (HBO, 9 p.m.) in what must be a flashback.
“The Rehearsal” (HBO, 10:35 p.m.) heads to Washington, where Nathan recreates a hearing.
Anderson Cooper reports on Trump’s cutbacks to the IRS on the season finale of the fearless “60 Minutes” (CBS, 8 p.m.).
“Dr. Sanjay Gupta Reports: Animal Pharm” (CNN, 8 p.m.) is a special about new discoveries in organ transplants, following a two year investigation.
Tyrannis is annoyed that his family doesn’t think he’s important enough to be assassinated on the second season finale of “Krapopolis” (Fox, 9 p.m.).
“The Simpsons” (Fox, 8 p.m.) ends its 36th season with the fear that Bart and Lisa are drifting apart.
Ending its 35th season is “America’s Funniest Home Videos” (ABC, 7 p.m.).
Fourteen contestants volunteer to be dropped in the Australian Outback to compete in the spinoff, “Naked and Afraid: Last One Standing” (Discovery, 8 p.m.), beginning its third season.
“Call the Midwife” (PBS, 8 p.m., check local listings) ends its 14th season with an evacuation.
The faith-based detective drama “Vindication” (Great American Family, 8 p.m.) returns for a fourth season.
Teddy volunteers to build a parade float on “Bob’s Burgers” (Fox, 9:30 p.m.).
“Secrets of the Zoo: Down Under” (Nat Geo Wild, 9 p.m.) checks the health of koala populations.
Maggie travels to a dangerous place on “The Walking Dead: Dead City” (AMC, 9 p.m.).
“Family Guy” (Fox, 8:30 p.m.) has a “White Lotus” parody.
Now 30 years old, “Clueless” (8 p.m.) gets a primetime rebroadcast.

The silent movies at midnight have a pair by Yasujiro Ozu, “A Straightforward Boy” (12:30 a.m.) and “I Graduated, But…” (12:45 a.m.), followed by two imports from Nagisa Oshima, “The Cruel Story of Youth” (2:30 a.m.) and “Boy” (4:15 a.m.).
