The first film from South Korean filmmaker Bong Joon Ho since his Oscar-winning “Parasite,” “Mickey 17” (HBO, 8 p.m.) makes its premium cable debut. Released in theaters only in March, the sci-fi black comedy set in 2054 stars Robert Pattinson as a an expendable worker in a space colony who is closed every time he dies. Naomi Ackie, Steven Yeun, Toni Collette and Mark Ruffalo also star.
It’s followed by the latest stand-up special from Jerrod Carmichael who asses his life since he came out: “Jarrod Carmichael: Don’t Be Gay” (HBO, 10 p.m.).
There are sports on four out of five of the broadcast networks tonight.
That includes Oklahoma City at Minnesota (ABC, 8:30 p.m.) in Game 3 of the NBA Playoffs West finals, Dodgers at Yankees (Fox, 7 p.m.) in baseball and, something different, AVP Beach Volleyball (CW, 8 p.m.).
We’ve included “Saturday Night’s Main Event” (NBC, 8 p.m.) to this list even though its WWE action is strictly scripted. It includes matches with John Cena and Logan Paul. It’s a bad look for broadcast network primetime and has nothing to do with “Saturday Night Live” (NBC, 11:30 p.m.), which begins its summer of reruns with a March show with Shane Gillis and Tate McRae.
The Stanley Cup playoffs, meanwhile, are still on cable, with Carolina at Florida (TNT, truTV, 8 p.m.) in Game 3 of the East final.
Another Hallmark romance gets a travel budget: “Love on the Danube” (Hallmark, 8 p.m.) concerns a jolted gallery manager who meets a prince hiding his identity.
“Secret Life of the Surgeon’s Wife” (Lifetime, 8 p.m.) is a made-for-TV thriller about a woman trying to prove her husband is having an affair, only to get involved with the other woman’s husband.
Sevengoolie is showing “The Mummy” (MeTV, 8 p.m.).
Turner Classic Movies’ Memorial Day Marathon continues all day with “Wings for the Eagle” (6 a.m.), “Mister Roberts” (7:30 a.m.), “Sergeant York” (9:45 a.m.), “Hit the Deck” (noon), “Men Must Fight” (2 p.m.), “Men of the Fighting Lady” (3:15 p.m.), “Target Zero” (4:45 p.m.), “The Steel Helmet” (6:30 p.m.), “Men in War” (8 p.m.), “A Walk in the Sun” (9:45 p.m.), “Cornered” (midnight), “Battleground” (2 a..m.) and “Armored Command” (4:15 a.m.).
