Another tiny British town has enough crime to warrant investigations from the police and, in the case of “The Marlow Murder Club” (PBS, 9 p.m., check local listings), some amateur crime solvers as well. Samantha Bond, Jo Martin and Cara Horgen star as the would-be sleuths in the town of Marlow, where the second season begins with a prospective groom is murdered before his wedding.

It comes in between two other British crime dramas starting new seasons, the fourth season for “Professor T” (PBS, 8 p.m., check local listings\) and the sixth for “Unforgotten” (PBS, 10 p.m., check local listings).

The Stephen King adaptation “The Institute” (MBM+, 9 p.m.) ends its first season. 

Whoever held out the longest on “Big Brother” (CBS, 8 p.m.) becomes head of household and nominates three more names for eviction. 

Lions, crocodiles and black mambas make “Naked and Afraid Apocalypse” (Discovery, 8 p.m.) even more uncomfortable. 

“The Great Food Truck Race” (Food, 9 p.m.) pulls into Darlington Raceway in South Carolina. 

Since its days as a shelter during Hurricane Katrina 20 years ago this week, there’s been a “Rebirth of the Superdome: New Orleans: Soul of a City” (CNN< 9 p.m.), according to a new special. 

“Jon Lovett Joins the Best People with Nicole Wallace” (MSNBC, 9 p.m.) is a new political show featuring the wit from “Pod Save America.” 

The two recording stars not only reunited after a 10-year separation, they’re doing a reality show about it, “Nelly & Ashanti: We Belong Together” (Bravo, 8:15 p.m.). 

Friends and family come for a BBQ on “Kings Court” (Bravo, 9 p.m.). 

“The Last Rhinos: A New Hope” (National Geographic, 8 p.m.) tracks efforts by scientists to save the last two northern white rhinos from extinction. 

A spirit stalker in Massachusetts may well be a smudge on the lens on “Unexplained: Caught on Camera” (Travel, 9 p.m.).

“Do Exactly as I Say” (Lifetime, 8 p.m.) is a made-for-TV thriller about a private chef for a tech billionaire whose daughter is kidnapped. 

Henry Fonda is featured all day on Turner Classic Movies’ Summer Under the Stars in “The Male Animal” (6 a.m.), “The Big Street” (7:30 a.m.), “Jezebel” (9:15 a.m.), “The Lady Eve” (10:45 a.m.), “A Big Hand for the Little Lady” (12:45 p.m.), “Spencer’s Mountain” (3 p.m.), “The Wrong Man” (6 p.m.), “Fail-Safe” (8 p.m.), “The Best Man” (10 p.m.), “Mister Roberts” (midnight), “Firecreek” (1:45 a.m.) and “The Rounders” (4:30 a.m.).

Baseball includes Mets at Atlanta (MLB, 1:30 p.m.), Dodgers at San Diego (MLB, 4:30 p.m.) and Boston at Yankees (ESPN, 7 p.m.).

There is first round play in tennis’ U.S. Open (ABC, noon; ESPN2, 3 p.m.).

WNBA action includes Indiana at Minnesota (CBS Sports, 7 p.m.).

Final rounds are played in the Tour Championship (Golf, noon; NBC, 1:30 p.m.) and the Canadian Women’s Open (CBS, 4 p.m.).

Motor sports include the Grand Prix of Hungary (Fox Sports 2, 11:30 a.m.), the Milwaukee Mile (Fox Sports 1, 11:30 p.m.) and Milwaukee Mile 250 (Fox, 2 p.m.) and the Michelin GT Challenge (USA, 2 p.m.).

It’s U.S. vs. Argentina (CBS Sports, 8:30 a.m.) in the beach volleyball world championship. 

Women’s college volleyball has Florida vs. Pittsburgh (ESPN, 1 p.m.) and Stanford at Nebraska (ESPN, 3:30 p.m.).

The Little League World Series championship game has Taipei vs. Nevada (ABC, 3 p.m.). Playing for third place, it’s Aruba vs. Connecticut (ESPN, 10 a.m.).
