Asking the musical question “Who Put the Bomp (In the Bomp, Bomp, Bomp)” this week (preceded by its musical answer decades later from Chuck Prophet) led to all manner of similarly silly songtitles from “De Do Do Do, De Da Da Da” to “Fa-Fa-Fa-Fa-Fa” and “Da Doo Ron Ron,”
But there was also a segment in this pre-recorded Capital Radio about songs that incorporated all the days of the week into the lyrics, sparked by Bruce Springsteen’s recent “Sunday Love,” giving us an excuse to revive Cherrelle’s “Saturday Love.”
And there were birthdays too, from jazz man Cannonball Adderly, to Mimi Parker of Low to country’s Roy Acuff.
