Two skilled actors in series television, Claire Danes (“Homeland”) and Matthew Rhys (“The Americans,” “Perry Mason”) play opposite one another in the new “The Beast in Me” (Netflix, streaming). She plays a blocked writer; he’s an abrasive real estate tycoon suspected of killing his wife, in the manner of Robert Durst. Neighbors in a tony Long Island enclave, they clash immediately, and yet she’s fascinated by his lethality. Showrunner, writer and producer is Howard Gordon (of “Homeland” and “24”); other producers include but also Jodie Foster and Conan O’Brien.

Rounding out the cast is the suddenly ubiquitous Brittany Snow (“The Hunting Wives,” “Murdaugh: Death in the Family”), Jonathan Banks and Natalie Morales. 

The 2025 Latin Grammy Awards (Univision, 8 p.m.) is live from Las Vegas, hosted by Maluma and Roselyn Sánchez. Performers include Bad Bunny, Karol G, 

A new action series “Last Samurai Standing” (Netflix, streaming) is set in 1878 when the last samurai battle for survival. 

From India comes the third season of the drama “Delhi Crime” (Netflix, streaming), investigating human trafficking in the world’s biggest democracy. 

The Taiwanese romantic drama “Had I Not Seen the Sun” (Netflix, streaming) concerns a young man who turns himself in as a serial killer who grants his first interview to a woman. 

“Blue Lights” (BritBox, streaming), the police procedural from Northern Ireland, returns for its third season. 

The strangely popular ”Secret Lives of Mormon Wives” (Hulu, streaming) is also back for it s third season. 

“Law & Order” (NBC, 8 p.m.) looks into the death of a high school sports star; a famous author twists details of a serious crime on “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit” (NBC, 9 p.m.); and “Law & Order: Organized Crime” (NBC, 10 p.m.) goes on a wild goose chase.

The dishes on “Hell’s Kitchen” (Fox, 8 p.m.) involve license plates. 

Recruits have to carry tires up a mountain on “Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test” (Fox, 9 p.m.). 

“9-1-1: Nashville” (ABC, 9 p.m.) tries to stop a distillery explosion. 

Athena revisits a painful part of family history while answering a call on “9-1-1” (ABC, 8 p.m.). 

“Grey’s Anatomy” (ABC, 10 p.m.) deals with a big bus accident. 

Georgie gets jealous when Mandy goes on an overnight work trip with her boss on “Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage” (CBS, 8 p.m.). 

“Matlock” (CBS, 9 p.m.) continues to test he friendship with Olympia. 

Trevor suggests his daughter goes into finance on “Ghosts” (CBS, 8:30 p.m.). 

“Elsbeth” (CBS, 10 p.m.) investigates someone who goes missing in a panic room. 

El Dorado, the city of gold according to legend is one of the “Greatest Mysteries Ever” (Travel, 10 p.m.). 

“The Real Housewives of Orange County” (Bravo, 8 p.m.) continue their reunion episode. 

Not to be confused with “Stranger Things,” which starts its final season in two weeks, here’s the premiere of “Strangest Things” (National Geographic, 9 p.m.), about things like King Tut’s mask.

“7 Little Johnstons” (TLC, 10 p.m.) celebrate Nana’s birthday. 

Turner Classic Movies looks to the time when movies adopted sound, first in the 2022 documentary “The Invention of Cinema: Cinema Finds Its Voice” (8 p.m.), and then in “Singin’ in the Rain” (9:15 p.m.), “His Glorious Night” (11:15 p.m.), “Blackmail” (1:15 a.m.), “Becoming Hitchcock – The Legacy of Blackmail” (2:45 a.m.) and “Hallelujah” (4 a.m.).
