Pulitzer Prize-winning investigative journalist Seymour Hersh had a knack for developing sources who spilled the truth over U.S. Army torture scandals during the Vietnam and Iraq War, which led to a lot of other important stories breaking. In the documentary “Cover-Up” (Netflix, streaming), he sits down with filmmakers Laura Poitras and Mark Obenhaus and almost immediately regrets it. A history of U.S. misdeeds follows nonetheless. 

A countdown of less important events are enumerated in the special “Popstar! Best of 2025” (CW, 8 p.m.) based on polls from Popstar! Magazine, hosted by Elizabeth Stanton. It’s the only non-rerun on broadcast TV. 

Bobby Berk helps collectors find places for their prized holdings in the new series “Junk or Jackpot?” (HGTV, 9:30 p.m.). 

“Inside the Enchanted Waterways” (Nat Geo Wild, 8 p.m.) looks at the future of rivers, and then at 9, lakes. 

DNA test kids lead to family secrets and murder in the made-for-TV thriller “The Child They Kid” (Lifetime Movie Network, 8 p.m.). 

“The Last Woodsmen” (Discovery, 9 p.m.) faces a wildfire threat.

A new coin is designed on “Gold Rush” (Discovery, 8 p.m.). 

Women ask their friends what they think of their choices on “Ready to Love” (OWN, 8 p.m.).

“The UnBelievable with Dan Aykroyd” (History, 9 p.m.) looks at some unusual pastimes. 

Tommy moves to rebuild after a major shakeup on “Power Book IV: Force” (Starz, 8 p.m.).

On “Spartacus: House of Ashur” (Starz, 9 p.m.), Achillia faces her first battle in the arena. 

Turner Classic Movies remembers some of those who were lost in 2025, with director Robert Benton’s “Kramer vs. Kramer” (8 p.m.), Val Kilmer in “Top Secret” (10 p.m.), Joe Don Baker in “Walking Tall” (11:45 p.m.), Claude Jarman Jr’ in “The Yearling” (2 a.m.) and Joan Plowright in “The Entertainer” (4:15 a.m.). 

During the day are movies starring Cary Grant ,with “Night and Day” (7:30 a.m.), “North by Northwest” (9:45 a.m.), “Operation Petticoat” (12:15 p.m.), “Indiscreet” (2:30 p.m.), “The Grass is Greener” (4:15 p.m.) and “That Touch of Mink” (6:15 p.m.). 

NBA action includes Philadelphia at Chicago (Prime Video, 7:30 p.m.) and Clippers at Portland (Prime Video, 10 p.m.). 

College football has Central Michigan vs. Northwestern (ESPN, 1 .m.) in the GameAbove Sports Bowl from Detroit, New Mexico vs. Minnesota (ESPN, 4:30 p.m.) in the Rate Bowl from Phoenix and Florida International at UTSA (ESPN, 8 p.m.) in the ServPro First Responder Bowl from Dallas. 

And it’s time for the 2025 Plumbing National Championship (CBS Sports, 8 p.m.). 

It’s Germany U20 vs. United States U20 (NHL, 6 p.m.) and Czechia U20 vs. Canada U20 (NHL, 8:30 p.m.) in the 2026 IIHF World Junior Championship.
