The most entertaining of the college bowl game season will again likely be the Pop-Tarts Bowl from Orlando. 

Formerly known variously as the Blockbuster Bowl or the Cheez-It Bowl, its first two years as a breakfast sponsor has featured a mascot in the form of the giant Po-Tart that is ceremoniously sacrificed in a giant toaster and subsequently eaten by the winning team. Fans have been voting on which of three different Pop-Tarts will be sacrificed. Since last year, the trophy of the game has been a giant, working 77-pound toaster. Playing the sprinkles-flecked event this year is Georgia Tech vs. BYU (ABC, 3:30 p.m.).

It comes on college football’s biggest bowl day, each with their own sponsor, and one with Snoop Dogg.

Action starts before noon with Pittsburgh vs. East Carolina (ESPN, 11 a.m.) in the Go Bowling Military Bowl from Annapolis. 

It’s followed by Penn State vs. Clemson (ABC, noon) in the Bad Boy Mowers Pinstripe Bowl in the Bronx; Connecticut vs. Army (ESPN, 2:15 p.m.), in the Wasabi Fenway Bowl in Boston; Miami, Ohio vs. Fresno State (CW, 4:30 p.m.) in the Snoop Dogg Arizona Bowl from Tucson; North Texas vs. San Diego State (ESPN, 5:45 p.m.) in the Isleta New Mexico Bowl from Albuquerque; Virginia vs. Missouri (ABC, 7:30 p.m.) in the TaxSlayer Gator Bowl in Jacksonville; and LSU vs. Houston (ESPN. 9:15 p.m.) in the Kinder’s Texas Bowl from Houston. 

There’s also a couple of errant NFL games today, with Houston at Chargers (NFL, 4:30 p.m.) and Baltimore at Green Bay (Peacock, 8 p.m.). 

Elsewhere, the special “Claire Danes Joins The Best People with Nicolle Wallace” (MSNOW, 9 p.m.) Is an interview with the actress. 

“The Hockey Mom’s Revenge” (Lifetime, 8 p.m.) is a made-for-TV thriller about a former hockey player who will do anything for her son’s success on the ice. 

A prank war brings a baker and coffee shop owner in a romance in the made for TV “Recipe for Romance” (CW, 8 p.m.). True O’Brien and Alex Mallari Jr. star. 

“Love and Marriage: Huntsville” (OWN, 8 p.m.) has the women go to a winery to bond. 

Svengoolie presents “the 1962 “The Creation of the Humanoids” (MeTV, 8 p.m.), said to be a favorite of Andy Warhol. 

Director Robert Townsend chooses a pair for Turner Classic Movies tonight: “Here Comes Mr. Jordan” (8 pm.) and “Network” (9:45 p.m.). The midnight noir is “Odd Man Out” (12:15 a.m.), followed by “Grey Gardens” (2:30 a.m.) and “Being There” (4:15 a.m.). The midday musical is “Hairspray” (noon) — which coincidentally is also on tonight on another network, BET at 9:30 p.m.

Basketball has Dallas at Sacramento (NBA, 5 p.m.) and Knicks at Atlanta (NBA, 8 p.m.). 

Soccer includes Benin vs. Botswana (BeIN Sports, 7:30 a.m.), Senegal vs. Democratic Republic of Congo (BeIN Sports, 10 a.m.), Uganda vs. Tanzania (BeIN, 12:30 p.m.) and Nigeria vs. Tunisia (BEIN Sports, 3 p.m.) in the Africa Cup of Nations.

The IIHF Junior World Championship has Germany vs. Slovakia (NHL, 2 p.m.), Switzerland at United States (NHL, 6 p.m.) and Denver vs. Czech Republic (NHL, 8:30 p.m.). 

Professional lacrosse has Saskatchewan at Halifax (ESPNU, 6 p.m.) and Georgia at Colorado (ESPNU, 9 p.m.). 

Rodrigo y Gabriela joins the Austin Symphony Orchestra on a replay of “Austin City Limits” (PBS, 11 p.m., check local listings). 

“Saturday Night Live” (NBC, 11:30 p.m.) has a replay of the Sabrina Carpenter-hosted episode from October.
