There may be a whole generation or two who don’t know the lurid Long Island story of Joey Buttafuoco, whose 17-year-old mistress Amy Fisher, dubbed the “Long Island Lolita” in the tabloids, walked up and shot his wife in the face in 1992. The wife’s story is told in the made-for-TV movie “I Am Mary Jo Buttafuoco” (Lifetime, 8 p.m.) in which the subject narrates the story in which she’s played by Chloe Lanier of “General Hospital.” For a full night of tabloid nostalgia, it’s followed by the 2020 “I Am Lorena Bobbitt” (Lifetime, 10 p.m.). 

Mostly, it’s all about the NFL Playoffs divisional rounds this weekend, starting with Buffalo at Denver (CBS, 4:30 p.m.) and San Francisco at Seattle (Fox, 8 p.m.). 

Jay Pharoah hosts the Critics Choice Association’s 8th Annual Celebration of Black Cinema & Television (Starz, 9 p.m.), taped last month in Los Angeles. Ryan Coogler, Janelle James and the cast of “One Battle After Another” (HBO Max, streaming) all appear, among others. 

A big travel budget allows the latest made-for-TV romance “Love on the Amazon” (Hallmark, 8 p.m.), about a woman traveling to Brazil who hires a riverboat captain. Jaicy Elliot and Rafael de la Fuente star. 

From South Korea comes a new workplace comedy, ”Undercover Miss Hong” (Netflix, streaming) about a securities inspector investigating a suspicious investment firm. 

The spiritual coach Iyanla Vanzant returns in “Iyanla: The Inside Fix” (OWN, 8 p.m.), in which she revisits episodes from her old series “Iyanla: Fix My Life,” maybe to see if they were actually fixed.

A 27-year-old with crushing debt is helped out on “Maxxed Out” (OWN, 9 p.m.). 

Turner Classic Movies has a pair of bounty hunter movies from the 1950s, “The Naked Spur” (8 p.m.) and “The Bounty Hunter” (11:30 p.m.). The 12 o’clock noir is “Diabolique” (midnight). it’s followed by the remakes of “The Postman Always Rings Twice” (2:15 a.m.) and “The Spiral Staircase” (4:30 a.m.). The midday musical is “Going Hollywood” (noon). 

Basketball includes Phoenix at Knicks (NBA, 7:30 p.m.) and Lakers at Portland (NBA, 10 p.m.). 

Hockey has Minnesota at Buffalo (NHL, 12:30 p.m.) and Toronto at Winnipeg (NHL, 7 p.m.). 

Men’s college basketball begins at noon with gams that include Connecticut at Georgetown (Fox), Virginia at SMU (ESPN2), Georgia Tech at North Carolina State (CW), Butler at Seton Hall (TNT), Kentucky at Tennessee (ESPN) and Elon at Hofstra (CBS Sports).

Reneé Rapp and Thee Sacred Souls play a new “Austin City Limits” (PBS, 11 p.m., check local listings). 

The first new “Saturday Night Live” (NBC, 11:30 p.m.) of the new year has Finn Wolfhard of “Stranger Things” hosting with musical guest A$AP Rocky. The rerun at 10 is their last new show, with Ariana Grande and Cher from before Christmas.
