“Parks and Recreation” isn’t on this week, but its Adam Scott surfaces on cable for his third stab at “The Greatest Event in Television History” (Cartoon Network, midnight) in which he and a number of high powered stars like Amy Poehler, also of “Parks,” and Jon Hamm recreate the opening credits of old shows.
After handling “Simon & Simon” and “Hart to Hart” it would seem from the portrait released that they’re going to do “Family Ties” (what other sitcom had a bearded dad?). Though it’s not supposed to live up to its name, it’s guaranteed to be pretty amusing.
Bob Newhart returns to “The Big Bang Theory” (CBS, 8 p.m.) and Bill Nye “The Science Guy” also guest stars. Josh Groban guest stars on “The Crazy Ones” (CBS, 9 p.m.).
Adam Lambert guest stars as a glam performer on “Glee” (Fox, 9 p.m.) as the troupe figures out whether it’s more like Katy Perry or Lady Gaga.

It’s not too late for you to get into the subtle pull of the French import “The Returned” (Sundance, 9 p.m.).
On the new “Urban Suburban” (Discovery Fit & Health, 9 p.m.), a pair of sibling professionals help couples figure out whether to live in the city or the country. It runs alongside the new “Reno vs. Relocate” (Discovery Fit & Health, 10 p.m.), the decision is whether to renovate or move.
It’s a big week for New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie. First he’s re-elected and now he’s an interview subject on “The Michael J. Fox Show” (NBC, 9:30 p.m.).
A new season of “Guinness World Records Unleashed” (Tru TV, 8 p.m.) plays like Stupid Human Tricks with a British authenticator. People enter the Guinness arena (an L.A. hangar) to cheer on people trying to break the record for kicking themselves in the head, among other needless achievements. And humanity strives ever higher. Dan Cortese hosts.
Meredith and Cristina are at odds on “Grey’s Anatomy” (ABC, 9 p.m.) directed by cast member Kevin McKidd.
The rapper Macklemore talks about his drug abuse and gets a home makeover on “Macklemore’s Big Surprise” (E!, 10 p.m.).
Naveen Andrews seems a little underused performing as the Disney character Jafar on “Once Upon a Time in Wonderland” (ABC, 8 p.m.).
There’s cocktails at Jay Z’s club on “Project Runway” (Lifetime, 9 p.m.) and then everyone gets thrown out of Barney’s.
Christopher Gorman directs this week’s episode of “Covert Affairs” (USA, 10 p.m.).
The first results show of the season for “The Voice” (NBC, 8 p.m.) comes on a Thursday, opposite that of the first results show for “The X Factor” (Fox, 8 p.m.).
Sherlock’s brother comes to visit on “Elementary” (CBS, 10 p.m.).
The local NFL broadcast of the Washington at Minnesota (NFL, 8:25 p.m.) pre-empts most of the NBC programming in D.C. including “Parenthood” (NBC, 10 p.m.)
HOckey action includes Rangers at Columbus (NHL, 7 p.m.). In the NBA, it’s Clippers at Heat (TNT, 7 p.m.) and Lakers at Rockets (TNT, 9:30 p.m.).

When people ask “Who ya gonna call?” the answer is never “Ghostbusters II” (CMT, 8 p.m.). It is, however, a better sequel than “Beverly Hills Chihuahua 2” (Disney, 7:30 p.m.).
