Nothing unlucky about tonight’s Friday the 13th show. It was a cold one, but began with a big set of New Orleans music for Mardi Gras weekend, played some Lauryn Hill, Sturgill Simpson and Bettye LaVette in conjunction with their shows in town.
A bit of a birthday salute to Peter Gabriel and Tennessee Ernie Ford, a big group of covers of Dylan songs, then more Dylan himself doing his standards, before switching to the Grammy’s album of the year (from Beck).
Played from a new Lead Belly compilation and closed with some soul music. Apparently this is one of the last shows at the old frequency, 95.7 FM, before a commercial station comes in and takes it. Stay tuned to where it ends up.
