The terrific domestic summer comedy “Married” (FX, 10:30 p.m.) returns for a second season with Nat Faxon and Judy Greer as a couple trying to become responsible in their union, but not trying all that hard. The terrific cast that includes Brett Gelman, Jenny Slate, Paul Reiser and John Hodgman now also includes Sarah Burns, who you’ll recognize from “Enlightened.”
The new season begins with a summer trip to see grandma, who happens to think it’s Thanksgiving.
On the new “Geeks Who Drink” (Syfy, 11 p.m.), various science fiction and pop culture aficionados try to answer trivia questions. Not sure at what point drinking is involved. Zachary Levi, once TV’s “Chuck,” is host. The names of the teams are pretty good: Hans Solo Cups and Tequila Mockingbird.
It’s joined by a new weekly “news” show covering the world of comics, movies and sci-fi called “Reactor” (Syfy, 11:30 p.m.) that is hosted by David Huntsberger.
Not to be confused with “Rectify” (Sundance, 10 p.m.) which is my new favorite drama of the summer.
The old game show “Chain Reaction” (GSN, 9 p.m.) is revived, with Mike Catherwood hosting.
It’s not quite the Kiddie ESPYs, but it is still the All Star Break so here’s “Kids Choice Sports 2015” (Nickelodeon, 8 p.m.), the second annual event where kids decide who their favorite athletes are. Russell Wilson of the Seattle Seahawks hosts the event from the University of California Pauley Pavilion. Derek Jeter gets special recognition.
Crossover idea: The townspeople of “Wayward Pines” (Fox, 9 p.m.) and “Under the Dome” (CBS, 10 p.m.) awake to find they’ve changed places.
A woman goes on a blind date with a surgeon who happens to be on call on “Dates” (The CW, 9 and 9:30 p.m.).
Charmain gets in a pickle on “Aquarius” (NBC, 9 p.m.).
Will and Hannibal get nabbed in Paris on “Hannibal” (NBC, 10 p.m.).
Trudy takes on a new cause on “The Astronaut Wives Club” (ABC, 8 p.m.).
Get a load of that planet once more on “Direct from Pluto” (Science, 9 p.m.).
There’s a bad storm on “Alone” (History, 10 p.m.).
There is a crossover of sorts among network cooking shows when a past contestant on “MasterChef Junior” tries his hand against professional chefs on “Food Fighters” (NBC, 8 p.m.).
I would think Justin Bieber has a head up over Deion Sanders on tonight’s “Lip Sync Battle” (Spike
Even T.J. Jakes can’t quite fix the problems in “Braxton Family Values” (We, 9 p.m.).
John Wayne movies from the 1970s are featured on Turner Classic Movies, and the first two aren’t even Westerns: “Brannigan” (8 p.m.) ad “McQ” (10 p.m.). The rest of them, however, are: “Cahill, United States Marshall” (midnight), “Rio Lobo” (2 a.m.), “The Train Robbers” (4 a.m.) and “Chisum” (5:45 a.m.).
Still no baseball until tomorrow. But there is the first round of the British Open (ESPN, 4 a.m.) and the Pan American Games (ESPN2, 9 p.m.).
The Tour de France (NBC Sports Network, 6 a.m.) continues to a mountainous stage 12, from Lannemezan to Plateau du Belle.
