Nobody said “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” (E!, 7 p.m.) was going to be easy. The most prominent family spin-off tonight begins with “I Am Cait” (E!, 8 p.m.), the odyssey of the former Bruce Jenner into the female Caitlyn. Already announced in two hour broadcast interviews and a Vanity Fair magazine cover, the transgender journey as a TV series might seem a little self-explotive. But for Jenner, who has lived with intrusive cameras for years, producing the story is a means to keep control on a story that’s going to be told by somebody anyway. And, she figures, it might teach somebody something about this experience.
The 10-episode series is accompanied by something as bizarre, “Stewarts & Hamiltons” (E!, 10 p.m.) about the lives of Rod Stewart’s ex, Alana, with her first husband George Hamilton, with whom she still retains a friendship. Perhaps they are tanning buddies.
The season finale of “Celebrity Family Feud” (ABC, 8 p.m.) pits Joey Lawrence’s clan against that of Mario Lopez.
Roma Downey’s spiritual quest continues with the reality series “Answered Prayers” (TLC, 10 p.m.), a six-episode show about people who say they’ve been saved by divine intervention. Yes, it’s on the former learning channel, not the gospel channel.
“Rick and Morty” (Cartoon Network, 11:30 p.m.), the wacky cartoon in part from Dan Harmon, returns for a second season.
“True Detective” (HBO, 9 p.m.) began a bold jump last week by moving ahead a few months, with the case repining that everyone thought was closed with the shootout. Of course I’m still on board.
A finale comes on “Battlebots” (ABC, 9 p.m.), where a champion will be crowned and be quickly hired by military contractors.
“Let the Scream Be Heard” (Ovation, noon) is a one-hour examination of the surprisingly prolific Norwegian artist Edvard Munch.
The Masters and Johnson book finally comes out on “Masters of Sex” (Showtime, 10 p.m.).
A rival is eating up Mutiny on “Halt and Catch Fire” (AMC, 10 p.m.).
Bruce’s parents come to visit on the second of two episodes of “Welcome to Sweden” (NBC, 8 and 8:30 p.m.), played by Patrick Duffy and Illeana Douglas. Earlier, he goes skiing with his potential inlays, Lena Olin and Claes Mansson.
George and Niska become friends on “Humans” (AMC, 9 p.m.).

David Attenborough admires “Clever Monkeys” (Nat Geo Wild, 10 p.m.) in a natural history special.
“Beach Flip” (HGTV, 9 p.m.) is about turning around oceanfront real estate, not some big surfing move.
Nominations for eviction are announced on “Big Brother” (CBS, 8 p.m.).
A compound is infiltrated on “The Last Ship” (TNT, 9 p.m.).
The 2nd Mass leaves Chinatown on “Falling Skies” (TNT, 10 p.m.) and brings some takeout with them.
Poldark takes on a cardsharp on “Masterpiece” (PBS, 9 p.m., check local listings).
A double feature of producer Alexander Korda’s work is on tonight with his classic “The Chief of Bagdad” (TCM, 8 p.m.), followed by “That Hamilton Woman” (TCM, 10 p.m.) with Laurence Olivier and Vivien Leigh in what was Winston Churchill’s favorite movie.
Here’s the finale in two big gulps: “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 1” (ABC Family, 5:30 p.m.) and “Part 2” (ABC Family, 9 p.m.).
And your fairy tales turn to nightmares with “Maleficent” (Encore, 8 p.m.) opposite “Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters” (FX, 8 p.m.).
Here’s your third chance this week to seed “Sharknado 3: Oh, Hell No” (Syfy, 9 p.m.). It follows a replay of Saturday’s “Lavantula” (Syfy, 7 p.m.).

The Pan American Games (ESPN, 1 p.m.) reaches its final day, but the Tour de France (NBC Sports, 10 a.m.) is still at stage 21.
