Alexandra Pelosi doesn’t pick the brain of her mother Nancy Pelosi in her latest documentary on campaign financing, “Meet the Donors: Does Money Talk?” (HBO, 9 p.m.). But there is a negative ad against her that literally shows her as a monster.
The influx of billionaires into the political process has her interviewing contributors who allow her in, mostly to chuckle at her ideas and show off their art and presidential handshake collection. In that way, the interviews with funders of both political stripes is more genial than the current political process, but also not as hard hitting as it needs to be.
In another new documentary tonight the 94-year-old fashion icon Iris Apfel is profiled in Albert Maysles’ “Iris” on “POV” (PBS, 10 p.m., check local listings) — one of the last films of the storied documentarian who died last year at 88.
After they both meet her parents, Jojo Fletcher makes her final choice between Jordan Rodgers and Robby Hayes on the season finale “The Bachelorette” (ABC, 8 p.m.) and then talks about it on “The Bachelorette: After the Final Rose” (ABC, 10 p.m.). Another post-rose alternative, of course, is “UnReal” (Lifetime, 10 p.m.).
