In the midst of another scenic and often dramatic Tour De France bicycle race, here’s an hour long spoof of a time when drugs took over the sport in “Tour De Pharmacy” (HBO, 10 p.m.). Andy Samberg leads a cameo-stuffed cast that includes Jeff Goldblum (perfect as an older version of Samberg’s character), Orlando Bloom, Freddie Highmore, Julia Ormond, Daveed Diggs, Danny Glover, Dolph Lindgren, John Sena, James Marsden, Kevin Bacon, Mike Dyson, Nathan Fielder, J.J. Abrams, Phylicia Rasheed, Maya Rudolph and Will Forte. But the biggest surprise is Lance Armstrong who speaks in the mockumentary thinking he’s masked.
The piece has a roaring sophomoric quality and quite a fixation on penises, but generally gets to the comic finish line.
It accompanies more Samberg in last year’s feature music spoof “Popster: Never Stop Never Stopping” (HBO, 8:30 p.m.) in which he and his comrades in the Lonely Island follow the unlikely rap rise of Conner4Real. Like the sports film, it revels in cameos from actual stars from Nas and Usher to RZA and Questlove.
