There’s a new late night host. Canadian comic Lilly Singh, who came up through YouTube, takes over the late, late slot formerly held by “Last Call with Carson Daly” for 17 years with her new “A Little Late with Lilly Singh” (NBC, 1:35 a.m.). Her first guests: Mindy Kaling and Rainn Wilson.
Among the half-recognizable or fully unrecognizable participants in the 28th season of “Dancing with the Stars” (ABC, 8 p.m.) is the already overexposed Bachelorette Hannah Brown, “Dawson’s Creek” actor James Van Der Beek, latter day Supremes member Mary Wilson, Christie Brinkley and two singers sprung from reality shows. But also a lying White House spokesman whose presence has already triggered boycotts and a kind of apology from the host.
A winner, meanwhile, is crowned on “So You Think You Can Dance” (Fox, 8 p.m.).
The new six part Irish series “Taken Down” (Acorn TV, streaming) is about a team of detectives solving crimes in Dublin’s refugee communities.
“Country Music” (PBS, 8 p.m.) moves right along, from the Depression to World War II, framed by “Hard Times,” singing cowboys and Texas Swing.
Candy is dreaming up a new film on “The Deuce” (HBO, 9 p.m).
