PeacockPeacock, the streaming service named after the NBC logo, begins spreading its feathers today — for free.

It’s got thousands of hours of largely NBC programming, scads of “SNL” clips, early glimpses at late night shows, everything that was on NBC, Syfy, Telemundo, Bravo and USA last night, a decent library of hundreds of movies and some original programming.

Chief among them as the service arrives is “Brave New World” (Peacock, streaming). The latest take on the Aldous Huxley classic, set in London, with a cast that includes Harry Lloyd, Alden Ehrenreich, Jessica Brown Findlay and Demi Moore.

Another new series set in London “The Capture” (Peacock, streaming) is a conspiracy thriller. David Schwimmer brings a workplace comedy, “Intelligence” (Peacock, streaming) — to tide you over before “The Office” begins streaming its seasons in January. “Lost Speedways” (Peacock, streaming) looks at forgotten raceways.

And there are some new kids shows, with Dreamworks’ “Cleopatra in Space” (Peacock, streaming) and shows built around the children’s classics “Where’s Waldo” (Peacock, streaming) and “Curious George” (Peacock, streaming)

Those who miss “Psych” will be cheered by a new movie with the cast, “Psych 2”  (Peacock, streaming). Another new movie takes on the canine classic “Lassie Come Home”  (Peacock, streaming).

You can see some of the originals free; others come with paid tiers that also eliminate ads. More shows come later, such as former NBC sitcom “AP Bio” this fall, along with “The Amber Ruffin Show.”

The main problem on its maiden day is that it’s not yet available on popular streaming platforms Roku or Fire TV. But can be streamed on phones, laptops pads and maybe watches.
