A second season starts for “Trinkets” (Netflix, streaming), based on the young adult novel by Kirsten Smith, about three teen girls who meet at a mandated Shoplifters Anonymous meeting.

A new science program aimed at younger grade schoolers begins with “Emily’s Wonder Lab” (Netflix, streaming), starring Emily Caladrelli. 

Among those expected to speak very loudly in a very empty auditorium tonight in the second night of the Republican National Convention (PBS, Fox News, CNN, MSNBC, 8 p.m.; CSPAN, 8:30 p.m.; ABC, NBC, CBS, 10 p.m.) are First Lady Melania Trump, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, Sen. Rand Paul, Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds, Eric Trump, Tiffany Trump and the kid in the MAGA hat mocking a Native American at the Lincoln Memorial. And the president will insist on appearing as well. 

There’s another live show of “America’s Got Talent” (NBC, 8 p.m.) and Kenan Thompson is still sitting in for ailing Simon Cowell. 

“Still a Mystery” (Investigation Discovery, 9 p.m.) has its season finale.
