Like “Ramy” from a female perspective, it’s a bright and brash look at a culture entirely written and directed by Nina Manzoor.  

Marc Cherry’s anthology series “Why Women Kill” (Paramount+, streaming) returns for a second season, entirely set in 1949, with a new cast, that includes Allison Tolman, Lana Parrilla and B.K. Cannon. 

“Women in Motion: Nichelle Nichols, Star Trek and the Remaking of NASA” (Paramount+, streaming) is a documentary about how the actress who portrayed Lt. Uhura inspired women of color to become astronauts too. 

The imported Swedish comedy film “Dancing Queens” (Netflix, streaming) is about a young female dancer who tries to get a job dancing at a drag show.

A total eclipse brings more than the usual darkness in “Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Eternal the Movie” (Netflix, streaming), the latest chapter in the anime saga, which is a sequel to “Sailor Moon Crystal” presented as two movies instead of a fourth season.  

A man agrees to look after his landlord’s niece, who is a little more weird than he imagined in the new thriller “Caveat” (Shudder, streaming). 

The new series “Promiseland” (Crackle, streaming) follows the career of NBA star Ja Morant.
